I was listening to President Obama speaking earlier today. He was discussing some serious issues, when someone in the crowd began interrupting him.

Other news sources indicate the disruption came from a woman, known as Medea Benjamin, who founded a group called "Code Pink."

I am left with the opinion that she might be a media whore, as in one who will say or do anything to draw attention to oneself, particularly at any event inolving national news television cameras and news photographers.

I believe it is very rude and disrespectful to interrupt anyone who is giving a speech. An exception to that might be, "Mr. President, there are sparks and smoke coming from your podium."

No matter how valuable or important the protestor's ideas, thoughts or concerns might be, they are immediately devalued by a beligerant interruption.

I'm just glad I was not there to see that happen, because I would still be in jail, unable to raise bail, with a charge of assault on the person making the interruption. I would have found a way to use napkins to gag the unruly mouth, and, that would constitute assault.

So if I could say something to Ms. Benjamin, it would be something like this: "Shut the fongonus up, and sit down. No one wants to hear your comments!"

Oh, "And, please, stop your irrational behavior. Your history of making inappropriate interruptions devalues you as a person."

At my last job before I retired, I had a “Program Manager” and a “Supervisor.”

Both were incompetent; and, both had been promoted mostly as a convenience to the employer - a state agency - to avoid any type of discrimination or personnel issues. Their positions were definitely not based upon their abilities or achievements or management abilities.

For 8 years, I carefully selected appropriate “Mother’s Day” cards to place in their inboxes, because if anyone was a “real mother, "RP" certainly was, and so was "KS." For a few years after I retired, I mailed them “Mother’s Day cards," until they too retired. I do not know their home mailing addresses, otherwise, each of them would still be receiving a “Mother’s Day" card.

I often wondered if they ever got the message, or the hint, that at least one person thought they were “real mothers.” AND, I do not mean that in a kind way.

If you work with someone who is a real mother ______, (fill in the blank with the famous ‘F’ word), they need to know it.

As such, more likely than not, you would have a responsibility or duty to inform them. However, saying it could get one fired. So, it is best to be anonymous about it.

Like spraying wasp and hornet killer on a nest of yellow jackets, and listening for the ‘thwack’ as their lifeless body hits the floor of the garage or shed, there is something very gratifying about letting someone know they are a ‘real mother.”

Trust me. I highly recommend it, and hope that others have done so as well.

By the way, I heard that one year RP had his card dusted for fingerprints so he could try to find out who provided it. Thanks to the food handlers latex gloves that were used, fingerprints were not going to happen... LOL !!

PICKING FLY MANURE OUT OF GROUND BLACK PEPPER

A friend of mine forwarded a video commentary by the following organization. https://www.youtube.com/embed/c1Q1qzfL9rE The video concerns the vacation costs of President Obama using Air Force One for vacation travel.

As a Republican, since the first time I could vote for Barry Goldwater, I always find it distressing when "full disclosure" is not present.

The commentator in that video, "Time to sequester Air Force One Vacation Flights," appeared very reasoning impaired by not presenting balanced information.

Mainly, that George W. Bush, more likely than not, set the record for vacation days and use of Air Force One. http://www.politicususa.com/cost-obama-christmas-vacation-bush.html

Some, if not many, conservative Christian Republicans, still cannot accept the fact that a BLACK MAN, a man of mixed race, actually won election to POTUS.

SO, instead of focusing on positive things both parties could do to try to improve our country, they use every opportunity to try to denigrate President Obama.

This video might be an example of that denigration. It's almost as if the only thing the Republican conservatives have not complained about is Obama's shoe size; or, what tooth paste he uses.

I would expect more positive news and actions by Americans For Prosperity California, than this video. Words are one thing but good deeds are another matter. What constructive efforts have AFPC folks done recently to help create jobs, or try to reduce health care costs, or try to help the poor...?

Contrary to what many Republicans might believe, most of the poor are not there by choice. They are in dire straights due to circumstances beyond their control. Most of the poor are "the working poor," and they are not looking for a handout - they are looking for a hand up, out of their situation.

AFPC folks need to remember, "One cannot brighten the path for another, without brightening one's own path."

I am a Christian. I am a conservative. I am a Republican. However, I am not a conservative Christian Republican.

Instead of trying to find a speck of fly manure in a dash of ground black pepper, AFPC folks should rethink their actions and focus on doing something positive to help the less fortunate. Eh?

As we try to settle down after the tragic events in Boston, one must ask the bomber(s), what was your point? What were you trying to say?

Did you intend to just scare people, or, did you really intend to kill an 8 year-old boy and two adults? Did you really intend to wound about 150 people with horrific injuries in some cases?

I guess the answer to those questions is yes, you did intend to do all of that. Police forensic investigators learned that your bombs were a “pressure cooker bomb.” THey were filled with explosives, nails, tiny ball bearings and bb type of objects that would become flying shrapnel during the explosion.

Whether domestic or foreign, your acts were that of a terrorist. What had you so pissed off at people running and watching a marathon that you decided to act out your hate at that scene - the finish line? One might ask, WHAT THE FONGONUS IS WRONG WITH YOU?

However, all of that aside, there is one very disturbing aspect to your dastardly deed. The bomber is a coward.

The bomber is afraid to confront real or perceived enemies on a first person basis, or “mano o mano.” You did not risk confronting police or military, who in most cases are quite capable of defending themselves. Instead, you chose innocent people who could not defend themselves. That action speaks volumes about your cowardice.

You might have had an exhilarating high from your deed, but do not exult for too long. As you slink into the shadows, realize that the F.B.I. and other government agencies will be searching for you, hunting you. More likely than not, there are private citizens doing the same thing. Your days are numbered, so be prepared to die for your perceived cause.

You are a murdering coward, nothing less, nothing more, hiding in fear for your life.

Whatever your point might have been; no matter what you wanted to try to say, your message is meaningless, lost to cowardice. You will not sleep well or rest well, worrying about the knock at your door, which is sure to happen, quite possibly much sooner than you think.

NEW VERSION OF 1%

I've read that many millionaires and billionaires, pay very little or no U.S. income taxes, because they mostly invest in tax exempt investments.

Some people have been clammoring for a flat tax...

Anyone suggesting a flat tax of 15% or 20% is crazy, or at the very least, mentally unbalanced.

If there is a flat tax, it should not exceed 1%.

If EVERYONE had to pay only 1% of their gross income, with only principle residence mortgage interest as a deduction, I believe the government would receive more "income tax revenue" than at present - considering that all the people who presently pay nothing for a variety of reasons, would have to pay their 1%.

Whether the person is a disabled veteran getting about $3,200 per month, or a person who earns more than a million a year - everyone would have to pay 1%.

In the case of the disabled veteran, that would be a tax liability of $384 per year, less any principle residence mortgage interest. If there was more than $384 mortgage interest, that disabled veteran would not pay any income taxes.

On the other hand, someone earning one million a year, would have a tax liability of about $10,000 - less any mortgage interest on the principle residence. For most people with such income, their net tax liability would be a drop in the bucket.

Someone earning $650 a month on Social Security, who does not have any mortgage interst to deduct, would have to pay only $78 per year, or $6.50 per month, to help pay toward all U.S. government services.

The point is, EVERYONE should pay something, and that is not happening at the present.

The end result of a 1% flat tax - reduced dependency on foreign or off-shore investments, reduced IRS staff, reduced legal system costs, and, reduced lying about deductions...etc. Eh?
