Asbury can no longer put up with the propaganda about Sadie. He's determined to start blogging about Sadie's true personality: a pattern of evil behavior including ear-biting, shrill barking, incessant energy, and peculiar manner of greeting those she supposedly "loves" most.

So far he's been unable to successfully create an account in Salon - or if he has, he hasn't been able to re-enter the password correctly (talk about fat-fingering the keyboard!) but with his kind of determination, it wouldn't be surprising to find some day that he's managed to somehow publish his expose....

It's disappointing but not entirely out of character that I would have accidentally deleted my own first Blog, after taking... what? Almost a full year to do my very first post? What would Freud say?!

He would say I have trouble with commitments.

It goes back to my childhood when people would ask "What do you want to be when you grow up?" When I was 6, I wanted to be a teacher, a mother, the best race car driver in the world (like Speed Racer!) and the best writer in the world. How to choose!? By 10 I wanted to also be a rock star (like Bruce Springsteen!) and I would have committed to that - I tried! - but I didn't have talent. I would have then committed to being Bruce's best friend and maybe even marrying him, but that's easy to say because he never did ask. And I wouldn't commit to it now. Well, maybe friends.

And now I'm in Sales for a software company, of all pathetic ends! That's what you get when you don't make a commitment! That alone should be lesson enough for me to get committed. (No wisecracks about my getting committed to a mental institution - I left myself wide open for it, but I expect much more cleverness and wit from the members of Open Salon.)

Even knowing my lack of commitment has cost me in life I still haven't changed. For example, I've been meaning to remodel my kitchen. It's been 3 years now since I saved up and set aside the money. But if I do it one way, I might wish I did it one of the other ways! And of course now, with the economy the way it is, there's no way I'll commit to spending the money, even if I could commit to a design.

There are many other examples. But look - I posted again! Maybe there's hope for me!

Meanwhile, here's the picture I posted of the Half-Naked, Happily Gifting Kens.

I certainly wouldn't want to deprive anyone of this photo!
