Yes, this just happened today on the recently thawed Round Lake in Ste Adele, Quebec. This lady actually surprised me with her antics. The bird flying in as well. The lake just lost it's ice three days ago . Boy life can be surprising. Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone !

Talking about Umberto Eco @ a book launch

Recently, while I was in Istanbul my friend Byron Ayanoglu was interviewed by a reporter for the launch of his book in Turkey called "Istanbul to Montreal" What i found out from the event was that the reporter who interviewed him was also interviewing Umberto Eco the next day because he was in town as well.

I tried to make contact with him for I found out where he was staying and it was the Pera Palace Hotel, a place where Agatha Christie stayed as well. Unfortunately I could never get through even though I wanted to interview him because he is one of the great minds of our time. Plus he has influenced me so much.

Here, I am hoping to glean more insights into the man who gave us so many great books and has colored our perceptions with his focus on the subject of Semiotics.

Please put your comments here about what you learned or feel about Umberto Eco.

On another note, I am also cooling off OS for awhile because photography here has lost it's position as something that stands equally next to writing. If the editor cannot understand an image is worth a thousand words and gives me no time of day for some posts that take weeks to get together, than I certainly do not want to support his leadership at this site.

So with that said, please do put down your thoughts on Umberto Eco and if you cannot put them on Youtube I shall post them there myself except I cannot also click LIKE for you.

I still plan on finishing my duties to my previous posts but currently my computer needs a new monitor, so I am on a friends plus I need two root canals and a new crown and maybe even the extraction of a tooth so i am not a Happy Camper these days... So finishing up with some things might take awhile.

Take a look at these crows...just what are they up to? Is this their form of McDonalds? Snacking on bugs that this cow might be harboring or what? Well, when you watch this, they seem to be doing something else entirely. I think they are thinking about their confortable nests myself… but I could be wrong. Crows are one of the smartest birds so what do you think they are up to anyway?
