What the hell is going on?
Republican congressional “leaders” are “too busy” to join the President for dinner at the White House?
Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA 49) is on the Bill Maher Show sounding so rational that I say to my partner, “Now there’s a Republican I could vote for. Would they were all like that!” And then he returns to Washington to lead the completely fatuous attack against President Obama, calling him “one of the most corrupt Presidents in modern times?”
Now our new house Republican leadership is promising to make its first order of business to repeal what they so artfully describe as “Obamacare,” and then to essentially undo all the work that’s been done over the past two years.
General Motors is about to launch its “we’re baaaaaack” IPO which is predicted to mean an approximately $13.6 billion repayment to the U.S. government, which combined with the $9.5 billion it has already repaid would mean nearly $50 billion repaid bail-out money, so far. Does anybody think the administration will get a “well done” from its republican/tea party friends?
Sarah Palin tells Barbara Walters “I believe so” when asked if she thinks she could beat President Obama in a presidential run: Sarah, the half-term governor of Alaska who now has her own reality show. And, Bristol Palin could win “Dancing with the Stars” because her mother’s political supporters are stuffing the ballot box? Never mind that she dances like a puppet.
And Donald Trump is talking about a run for the White House? Donald Trump.
We have entered political silly season. The people’s business has been put on hold while the politics of personal destruction reigns supreme in Washington. Our elected representatives in Washington now seem to have a single eternal quest: reelection. And we-the-people shall reap the whirlwind. Whether we like it or not.
Heaven help us.

2. I read at HuffPo that the Republicans are hoping to overturn Obama with litigation. They know they can't get it with legislation. Either way, it's doomed to failure.
3. Sarah Palin has a much higher estimate of herself than others. Unless the economy seriously worsens, she won't win. So far, the only thing Obama demonstrated he's good at is campaigning.
