All the Qtips and my mom crammed into a bus tour to Palm Springs. We were on the bus about three hours each way and saw the Fabulous Follies. I don't regret a minute of the day but it was hard to be on that bus so long. I took lots of photos and looked for stories everywhere. There were quite a few. You have to get out there and live so you have something to post about. Right now all I can do is remember that bus and be glad I am off the darn thing.
A sea of Qtips. I know them from every angle. Nice people. So nice.
Fortunately I had a window seat. I liked watching the landscape go by with all the chain stores that are so familiar on the coast here. The time went by with a funny comedian on the tv and a few rest stops. We had to pick up at three stops so that took time before we headed out into the desert. So many wind farms.... My mind wandered to all details of the steamy love affairs of my life. A good way to wile away the hours.
I liked the hills and we even saw a spot of snow on the distant mountains.
So how many palm trees do you think we saw in Palm Springs? That iconic town is so old and jaded. Just the brief ride thru the center of town was a tour in galleries, home decor and coffee shops. It was the land of can do and relax.
An Art Fair was going on. Art everywhere!
Amid all this oppulence there was a small group of OWS people with signs on the street corner making lots of noise. I saw a police car cruising by but not many people where taking notice. The rich just kept on getting richer as the poor were getting poorer. Palm Springs still screams RICH and there were very few empty store fronts. I know the average person in that town is hurting tho just like everywhere.
We tried to find Liberace's house but it was in the process of being torn down and relocated to Branson as a historical sight. Back to counting Palm Trees.
Some are soooooo tall.
This is the main intersection of town. Palms in all directions and characters at every curb.
We had to cross this street to get to the old theater. Characters everywhere.
This cute little therapy dog sure loved all the attention. She blended right in to the eclectic atmosphere on the main street in Palm Springs.
After the show I enjoyed seeing the palms in the twilight.
Back with the Qtips on the bus. Crammed in and yaking yaking yaking. I looked out the window again and I continued imagining every scenario of lovemaking I have ever had. That and contemplating the futility of long distance relationships and any possibility of real love.
Deep thoughts as the bus zoomed thru the night traffic and home.
I AM BECOMING A Q TIP!!!!!
