Tea Party Candidates Won't Help the Democrats

Rate: 2 Flag

The Democratic Party and many liberals are gleefully rubbing their hands in anticipation of mid-term campaigns against the likes of Christine O'Donnell.

Actually, this strategy reveals the fatal weakness of the Democrats. If your only hope for victory is in looking good only by comparison to the looniest people outside an asylum, then you're sunk.

This means that, considered on their own performance, the Democrats look lousy, just a slightly paler shade of corporate coloration than the average Republican.

I don't get hopeful about the prospects of the Democrats retaining their electoral majority, because they never do anything productive when they have it. If they did, they wouldn't have to rely on the prevalence of fringe Republican candidates in order to win.
