assange: people affiliated with us have been assassinated

Rate: 3 Flag

hi all. yes we all know that Julian Assange is probably one of the most paranoid people on the planet right now and that he has good reason to be. news is that he's turned against Guardian reporters that he previously worked with to release secrets because they were involved in leaking a confidential Swedish police report details. he says hes angry that they "selectively leaked" details. wow, what a weird world. the mind reels. [if they had done it indiscriminately, assange-style, would that have been better?]

in fact it would seem we almost need a new verb in our language...

assange [v.] -- to indiscriminately leak confidential information with the air of moral superiority but vehemently reject leaking by others.

but, as quoted below in an interview referenced below, he says "People affiliated with our organization have already been assassinated." of course this is a wild, near-unbelievable claim to say the least. so far he hasnt elaborated on this although I hope that someone questions him about it in more detail. he's unlikely to reveal much I would guess.

assange has said that the Australian secret service has warned him that the CIA would try to pull "dirty tricks" against him and his organization. he also feels that the rape charges may be instigated by shadowy forces.

now of course if you've read me on here, you know Im one of the biggest conspiracy theorists on here, and have personally "researched"/"investigated" many *real* conspiracies [not in the sense of a reporter, but in the sense of personally poring over books & historical accounts that I have come across]. however, even I find his claims outlandish. nevertheless, I do not automatically reject them either.

so, we will have to wait and see where this story turns. in any case, julian assange has done more for blowing the lid off internet conspiracy theory in a few months than maybe tens of thousands or even millions of internet conspiracy theorists have done in years.

and yeah, all that stuff we've been talking about and studying for years is suddenly a lot more credible and even the guy on the street wouldnt be surprised if the CIA managed a way to give assange a heart attack. and media facetiousness aside, thats no laughing mattter.

Why would the CIA bother to give him a heart attack when they can lock him up in Leavenworth with his new sex toy Tyron for 20 years? Assange is as good as convicted on the Espionage Act of 1917 as the Washington Post has already reported. It was long ago established that the first amendment did not encompass the leaking of military secrets: Schenck v. United States.
Wikileaks is such a potentially great thing for the human race that it's a shame it has to be run by someone who is apparently an arrogant hypocritical prick.

Not that it's entirely his fault, but nearly all of the media coverage on Wikileaks has had to do with Assange personally, and very little to do with the actual revelations contained in the leaks.

THAT is no coincidence (nor is it a conspiracy).
@ Jack Heart.

"Why would the CIA bother to give him a heart attack when they can lock him up in Leavenworth with his new sex toy Tyron for 20 years?"

Assange doesn't have much to fear from the CIA now when Stephen Kappes has retired. Here a link:

@ Kemstone.

"Wikileaks is such a potentially great thing for the human race that it's a shame it has to be run by someone who is apparently an arrogant hypocritical prick."

The concept is great. Wikileaks is not. That's why I hope Openleaks will be a more responsible project.

As I wrote in "Wikileaks killed the American Superpower" (link below) right before the first Cablegate leaks were published, Wikileaks will harm America in general and the CIA and the Department of State in particular.

A short disclaimer: At that time, Wikileaks only published a few documents, not millions as they hinted before the release. Nevertheless, the damage was done.

Regarding this

"People affiliated with our organization have already been assassinated."

He might be referring to that Kenya related leak. I think it was in 2007. I wouldn't be surprised if people died because of that.
hi DK. when I heard julian talk about "people affiliated with our organization" I thought he meant wikileaks volunteers ie the people who run the site, manage or redact the leaks, etcetera. but, I guess he could be alluding to a *leaker*. in that case, yeah, I would say leakers are very much at risk. I have documented the scary environment that eg russian journalists work in, in earlier posts. as far as kenya, it would surprise me if their leaks lead to any serious repercussions, because again they were diplomatic leaks right? unless they were overreacting, which I suppose is possible.... as amazing as the leaks have been so far, even within govt circles, diplomatic cables are not really considered all that "sensitive".... there is a vast "dark matter" of stuff that hasnt been leaked so far which is far more significant I would say....
