Welcome back all you blood and gore junkies!
Tonight it’s the Vaunted SS vs. Viet Cong.
Ruthless jackbooted commandoes vs. Murderous sandal wearers. (Doesn’t have the same ominous tone)
Highly trained soldiers vs. armed civilians that had a great strategy.
1940’s weapons vs. 1970’s weapons.
Now, as Americans, we all know we lost in Viet Nam. Our reasons will differ, but that’s a story for another to tell. And we all know we, the Allies, won WW2.
Now the SS never faced anything at all like the VC. We ourselves had to adapt to how they chose to fight. And by the end of the VNW the VC feared the “greenfaced men”, American commandoes. And we all know the 1 time the VC chose open battle they got their asses kicked.
But lets cover the weapons first. After all, water lead blow through a skull on super slow mo is why we watch.
So what do the killers bring to the field to spill the most blood with?
Close range,
The SS bring the Mauser and the VC hauls out the Tokarev. The mauser is a fairly easy to use weapon but the tokarev is ‘thee’ most powerful automatic out there. You gotta hit the target to kill, advantage SS.
Mid range,
Both are using 9mm sub machine guns with large clips. Advantage VC, because it’s an update model
Special Weapons,
The SS bring the FLAMETHOWER (I’m giddy just thinking about this) and the VC digs in with Booby Traps and Punji sticks. The traps and sticks were built to harm and maim, not, necessarily, kill. No one was there holding the weapon, but it relied on luck. The FLAMETHROWER, well, throws flame. Do I have to tell you what will lead in the body count on this one? If so, the Hello Kitty blog is that away à>>
Long Range,
The SS will bring in the original Assault rifle, named so by Hitler himself, and the VC will Bring the AK-47. This will be a generational issue for the SS. So common sense goes with the VC.
Ok, enough about the blood shedding weapons, for now. Lets break down the people behind the weapons. The VC were not, not soldiers with lots of training. They were ambush fighters. Hit and run, hit and run was the tactic from day 1 until the Tet offensive. They performed so poorly that they never opted for open war again and that was against our regular troops. The SS also used ambush, but their job was search and destroy, and they excelled at open battle. On Deadliest Warrior there is no hiding, you must fight to the Death.
I’m calling the Vaunted SS with 525 wins out of 1000 battles.
Even though they are using older weapons, they are all built to kill you where you stand in a blood splattered rainbow.
Now it’s your turn. Pick a side and boast how many bodies your team will put in the dirt.
And tune in tonight when we learn,
Who Is Deadliest!

Last year my son MADE me shoot his AK47, I was shy about it at first, but once I got the rythym, oh man, shot up lots of watermelons.(Guess that would be heads in war.) Incredible machine! (Sorry bout your last post..did you get my IM?
The G43 Semiautomatic 8mm rifle was far superior in firepower to anything the VC had. If this comes into play, it's all over.
Furthermore the Sturmgewehr StG 44 (storm rifle) you mentioned was an impressive piece of hardware in its own right, and the 7.92x33mm kurtz cartridge was effective within 200 meter engagements. Though I agree the AK is more 'developed' and popular.
The VC, without the terrain, homefield advantage, and numbers, would lose, hands down.
One of the reasons they "won" was the sheer number of them. The kill ratios in vietnam prove that more of them were killed than us.
It was their sheer refusual to give up, and our refusual to resort to genocidal and/or total war concepts that caused us to "lose."
The SS wins, hands down, and if they do not, I'm certain the programs are flawed.
They were not called Vaunted b/c they knew how to pole vault. They were WAY better than anything we (Allies) had.
Cindy,
ahh, 1st love. There's nothing like the full auto spray of your first assault rifle. I'm weeping bloody tears of joy. I'll take that as a vote for the VC.
And yes I got your email. That was funny.
Doug, welcome.
Excellent break down. I avoided using the actual names of less popular weapons, as I had to look some of them up myself. It will be on neutral turf, so no tunnels for the VC. And the rest of your facts are just that, facts. We had the body count on them.
They will do a 5 on 5 fight, and run it 1000 times. Care to pick how many wins the SS will get?
(I'm starting to think I picked a to low a number)
OOOHHH!! That's what I'm talking about!!
Pile them up chest high!!
SS by a mile 700-300
of course I've been wrong every time so far, which means VC will win if my pattern continues LOL
If it helps, you can always say you're jumping on my bandwagon;D
I think it's gonna come down to who gets closer with the victories. but yeah, it's looks cut and dry to me.
AH hahahahah! I was wondering when I'd get someone to comment on Woodstock.
I was hoping you would comment. Since you were mature enough to know about VN and (I'm guessing) some relatives may have passed down some info on the SS. (sorry, if it's upsetting)
