Fay Paxton’s Open Call for 12 movies.

Rate: 3 Flag

I had to give this some thought.  Do I list movies I love, movies that are defined as classics by others, or movies that were loved.  Then I was I just thought, “eh, do whatever comes to mind as it comes to mind.”  I might be going over 12.

Dirty Dancing and Grease.  I hate these movies to the core of my being.  Grease was nothing but a bunch of popular good looking people dancing around trying to sing.  Dirty Dancing is a mind numbing chick flick.  “Nobody puts baby in the corner.”  Would not have been followed by him walking past ‘Dad’ to dance, it would have been followed by him getting snatched up, dragged outside, and put in the woodshed.  (I watch it every time it comes on b/c my wife gets turned on by it)

Blazing Saddles.  Who does not know “We don’t need no stinking badges”?  You’d do it for Randolph Scott.  And the bean eating and farting scene (comedy gold).

ANYTHING by Monte Python.  “What is your quest?”  “I fart in your general direction!”  On and on.

Star Wars.  All of them.  Star Wars brought some very high end graphics and was the first movie I ever heard people boasting that they saw it over 10 times.

Braveheart.  Awesome b/c it’s a true story.

Rob Roy.  If you haven’t seen this one, please do.  It has everything, a loving romance, betrayal, sword fights, intrigue, and bravery.

Friday the 13th.  Even though the next 15 movies killed it, we all know the theme music, and it truly kicked off the genre.

12 Angry Men.  I saw this when I was a boy and didn’t get how 12 people could get the same info and have so many different ideas.  I understood when I was older about how different people will take things differently.

JAWS.  How many of you went swimming in the ocean and then got just a little freaked out?

The Wiz.  The black version of the Wizard of Oz.  The HUGH Wicked Witch and the Flying Monkeys on motorcycles is still funny today.

The Godfather.  What a classic and incredible cast.  Gave normal people an idea of how the Mob works.

Band of Brothers.  If you’re a Vet, I don’t have to explain why.  If not, I don’t think I could

It's not letting me rate it, for some reason. Tried several times. I'll try again once I post this. If it still says zero, just add one to whatever the total is later.

Dunno how I forgot Blazing Saddles. And you're right about Rob Roy. Liam Neeson is a great actor. I've neve seen him in a bad performance. Another great list.
Henry,
Thanks, it rated.

I almost said anything by Mel Brooks, but Spaceballs wasn't that good.

In Rob Roy, I can't remeber the villians name but he played it so very very well that I had a hard time seeing him in other types of parts.
That's an interesting mix of movies. Nice list. I'll watch them all except Friday13th. I'm a chicken.:)
Thanks Fay,

If you can whatch; Of mice and men. I heard it was great, I couldn't watch b/c it was the only book that ever made me cry.
