Little stories that amuse me. But then, I'm easily amused.

Bio
"Gen X" mama with goofy New Age sensibilities and, yet, a skeptical mind. Go figure. I grew up in Alabama, went to college in New Orleans, lived in Atlanta, Northern Virginia (DC area), the DC-Baltimore corridor, Wilmington, NC and now Long Island. Phew. Now my bags are unpacked, I live in a magic cottage near the beach with the world's coolest kid, 3 adorable kitties, and...coming soon...the love of my life. But that's another story.

Brings back memories. Sue and I honeymooned in the Big Easy at Mardi Gras time in 1983. Got there the last 2 days and then had 4 days of regular N.O. Worked out well. We have gone back several times. Haven't been there since the hurricane. But would like to go again.

Happy Mardi Gras backatya!
Monte- It's an amazing place. I was blessed to have four years there! No one ever forgets it.

Thanks Trig! I miss it tons.
The intro to "big chief" is one of the most fabulous pieces of piano playing ever.
Denise, if you ever get a chance to listen to Professor Longhair (who Dr. John studied with), it'll blow your socks off.
Hey thanks for these songs. I like mardi gras beads as i imported some of those wholesale beads for making jewelry. They were good.
