Today was my sister’s baby shower. We had an excellent time. Since she’s having a boy, everything was blue. And camouflage! Her husband is a redneck, loud and proud, so in his honor there were many blue camouflage items. My gift for my sister fit right into the mix. At the bakery where I work I ordered 45 sugar cookies. They were cut in the shape of a onesie, and then outlined in blue icing. After setting overnight, different shades of blue royal icing are piped into the outline creating a camouflage effect. Then the cookies set for another night. The next day (which was yesterday) my nephew’s name was written in white icing over the blue camouflage. They. Looked. GREAT!!! Everyone loved them. I’m so proud my boss’s mom (she made them). She did a great job with those cookies.

We also had cake from Sam’s Club- I know some readers may balk at that statement, but you know what? Sam’s Club Cake is good. And you know what else? I still eat Velveeta, canned frosting, and Jiffy cornmeal muffins. There is absolutely nothing wrong with eating convenience foods once in a while. Yeah, I try to make as much of my own stuff as I can. But realistically, I don’t have time to breathe anymore with my busy schedule.

Anyway, there were sloppy joes, meatballs, fruit trays, veggie trays, and assorted chips. My sister requested that I make cream cheese mints, so those made there appearance at the party, too.

My sister got a ton of gifts. That was the longest part of the party. And everyone went all out for her. It was nice to see such generosity. She really had a great time.

Now I’m home. Homework is my priority right now, so here I will end. Fare thee well readers. May our visits be more frequent. Toodles!
