Pushed to the wall by incessant questioning from reporters after her gubernatorial debate regarding her statements that illegal immigrants are responsible for "beheadings" in the Arizona desert, Arizona governor Jan Brewer issued a plea: "Can some illegal immigrant please behead someone in the desert already, so these questions challenging my veracity will stop?" Brewer went on to promise that anyone committing such a crime would be allowed to stay in the U.S., although possibly behind bars.
