Contrary to what Jesse Jackson said—I am nobody. Now I don’t mean that in any sort of self-deprecating way. I simply mean that I represent no school of thought, no religion, no creed, no nothing. I am just a youngish American who loves talking about the Big Stuff. I do not claim to know everything. A quick perusing of my blog makes that last comment seem like a bit of an understatement. Okay, enough of the self-loathing. I’m just your garden variety science-loving dreamer visionary. Wow. I don’t think I can get any more pretentious than that. Actually, throw an ‘auteur’ in there. I view evolution as a random series of events that happen for a reason. Yes, that is a contradictory statement, but hey that's the universe for you, it thrives off of such ironies.

Although there are random events in the universe, in general, if science has any validity the universe is not random. Ignorance of the principles of order does not establish that there is no order.
