- Born in the east, my parents uprooted us and we moved to Hawaii where I spent the next 30 plus years. My mother still lives there so in my heart that will always be home. I now live in central Texas where I am trying to make a long overdue dream come true. Perseverance...that is the Key Word.

December 2012 Honolulu
This year I came to Hawaii to be with my mother for Christmas. No…I’m not jumping out of a plane. I just don’t feel like jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.

About 2 weeks ago my mother did something she has always wanted to do. This shot was taken at about 8000 feet over the northshore of Oahu. As you can see she's in 7th heaven. She didn't tell me about this "Idea" until she was on the ground.
Of course… Read full post »
I must tell you that it takes time to reform your mind. No matter how positive you think you are that little negative thought will pop into your head and if you aren’t careful it runs amuck through your brain trying to take over.

I think that spring is my favorite time of year. It’s becoming warmer, natures spring flowers grow from the warmth of the sun and bloom like crazy. There’s no place you drive that you don’t see flowers…it’s wonderful.
Then there are the trees, God bles… Read full post »
I wanted to take a moment to share one of many memories from my mother that she told me on the phone a few minutes ago as she reflected and laughed about her Grandma.
Grandma knew when we were coming for a visit.
My four sisters and I would… Read full post »

I actually don’t like offending people because I don’t like being offended, so if I step on your toes…stop reading.

Sometimes we do way too much during the holidays, but we have so much fun wearing ourselves out. It sometimes takes us the entire month of January to recover.
Well, it didn’t take me a month, but there have been times I think it would last that long. It’s all… Read full post »

My Non-Christmas Message.
It has recently come to my attention people don’t always play fair. By this I mean that there are a few really big A.H.’s out there who don’t care who they hurt, steal from or damage reputation by taking what is private and not there’s to begin… Read full post »
Christmas … it’s a great time of year. Yet what seems to slip by us is the real reason for the holiday.
We rush from store to store buying gifts for our family, for friends and for co-workers. The stores begin to set up Christmas trees, decorate everything that… Read full post »
Christmas is upon us!
You pick out the perfect tree, take it home and slid it into a stand and add warm water. You, full of determination, wait 12 to 24 hours for the branches to fall into place….in other words you let it… Read full post »

I don't know how many of you try to take on "Handyman Work" but it is sometimes best left to the professionals.
Ten years ago I built a deck and because I'm fair-skinned a roof had to be added. I have never built anything before and I took on this job… Read full post »
She's almost here! Yes, I believe I do become excited when I know I'm going to see her. I'm over 4000 miles away and there's an ocean between us besides all the central and west coast land.

I have all of these books (stories) that I've written and re-written and now I'm in the process of the last edit. As you know that means reading every single word carefully---and I say carefully because when you write a book you know what's there, your brain and eyes… Read full post »
Writing and re-writing, that's the name of the game and time is difficult to come by all of the "time".
I'm still editing this book and although I'm not finished I've increased the page count by 100 and I still have 120 pages to go. It's really interesting to read something… Read full post »
Brief Note on Fires: They're out in Cedar Creek and nearly out in Bastrop. It's taking time to kill all of the smoldering trees, they burn long, like charcoal. People are going back to their homes, unless they lost them to this horrible fire. It's so sad. I know a few… Read full post »
