OS Anniversary- a year with you

It's my OS Anniversary March 15.  Here is some of what the year has been about:

1.  Addiction.

I love to read, and finding so many quality writers  in one location is addicting.  I come back again and again.

2.  Membership

On March 15th, I blogged, "A Creek's Run."  I've had to pull the post, but I'll talk about that next.  Since then, I have blogged and read weekly.

3.  Freedom

I write as Scupper.  I like this simple freedom.  In this year, I've shared my site and my reasons for writing anonymously with three close and local friends.  One friend enjoyed a recent post and shared it with others where I live.  I've got to reconsider my freedom here now, so I'm mulling it over and putting the outcome into perspective.  The plus side is it will open up new avenues.  The down side is no more dirty haiku, and I'll have to watch my potty mouth.

4.  Friendships

I've seen some posts about the purpose of OS.  I had no idea that I would enjoy interacting with some of the writers.  Some have now become "friends."  One friendship has become one of my finest exchanges and has taught me much about the beauty of communication.

5.  Range

This OS year has been filled with humor, wit, sarcasm, pain, drama, death,  flouncing, love, and so much more.  Sometimes I follow something through its course, sometimes I dismiss it as OS spotlight.

6.  Editor's Pick

Not yet.  I'm a poet, mostly.

7.  More to Come

I've seen writers come and go.  I've taken breaks.  OS is part of my day now.  I'm in for another year.  Besides, I've got to keep reading about Astrid.

It's been a great year, and hey, I'm wearing WSFTC's tiara!
Here's mud in your eye, and cheers for another fine year! **As he rumages around with his one free hand trying to find his tiara...**
Happy anniversary, Scupper. R.
Tiara's to you Jeff. Happy Anniversary!

Hi Patty Jane, thanks!
Happy anniversary to an amazing poet and a beautiful person.

And thank you. There'll be plenty more to read about Astrid and the rest of the dysfunctional crew. I promise.
You are one of the finest poets I've read. Happy Anniversary.
So glad you're here. You are an amazing writer and an amazingly supportive reader. Plus, your avatar makes me feel peaceful. happy year one, cheers to year two.
Happy Anniversary Scupper! We're lucky to have you here.
Happy Anniversary, and congratulations on making it a year in the madhouse.
This is a pretty amazing place...and you are part of what makes it so amazing! (I blog anonymously too. I haven't yet shared the blog with friends or family. Sometimes I want too, but then I remember why I want to keep a piece of myself for myself -- and then absurdly share it with "strangers.")
you are an OS treasure, one that makes this place home for so many.

thank you and happy anniversary!
Frank, You're one of the great ones!

Mustard, Mean Mustard, Chuck, you are one of the finest. I should have told you how often you've brought me joy. I am telling you now.

Aim- such depth in your work. Thanks for the comment.

Julie, I'm lucky to read you. Thanks for reading.

Mrs. Michaels, Good one. Yes. Sometimes a madhouse. I enjoy your blog.

BV: My decision to write in pseudo was mostly a career precaution. I'm glad I've read your blog. Good writing there!
The very best of the metal posts, in my opinion, and one of the best things I read this year, came from your pen, er, keyboard. What an incredible gift you have. I think that poem deserves reposting.
OS is a better place because of writers like you.
Congrats on a year! This place does get addicting, especially reading great writers like you!

**runs and finds tiara**
Love your writing, and so glad you're here. Happy Bl. day.
I can't wait till I have the chance to discover you. The only bad thing i have to say about OS that there is too much good and you feel as if you're missing something constantly. Embarrassment of riches situtations are preferable to the norm so we manage.
Glad you are here, scupper, and I look forward to getting to know your work(and hopefully you) more.
Cheers, Scupper! My experience here, altho much briefer, has been much the same as yours. I can't imagine a day now without checking in on my friends here. I've learned so much from you guys. rated for joy
Happy anniversary!
Kisses,
Marcela
Happy blogiversary, Scupper.
bbd, Caroline, vj, scanner and Lea,

Thank you! I have such good times with each of you.
Happy anniversary, scupper!
Kathy- Thanks for your appreciation of "One Silver Vandoren Optimum Ligature." (Metal Post) I've entered that poem in another contest. I'll keep you informed of the outcome.

Fernsy in court - I'm glad to get to know you.
Happy anniversary! It's addictive.
Scupper, you were one of the first people I regularly read here, and you never disappoint. Thank you for that. I'm glad you intend to be here for another year (at least). That you for that!
Happy Anniversary Scupper! You keep the poetry bar high here at OS, your comments encourage me to try to improve. Your pieces help me believe that poetry is viable and breathing today.
Happy Anniversary. What a different year it would have been for me without you here.

Thank you.
scupper, OSVOL was the best overall entry in the metal open call. Hands down. Good luck on the contest.
Glad to have you here to read Scupper. Your poems seem to reach right in past any boundaries.
I'm so glad you're here and completely understand about the anonymity thing. Many of my friends and family know about my blog but very few know about the "other" me. I haven't used it for a while but it's there when I need to really get down and dirty.
You get an SP for your poetry even if the EP's are hard to come by.
Lovely. Happy blogiversary Scupper!
You were one of my early favorites! Happy anniversary.
You are one of the poets/writers I enjoy most, no question about it. I read your work, and I often want to quit trying to write . . . 'cuz there's no way I can hit that level . . . then I end up having to write anyway . . . it seems to be in my DNA or something virus-like. Anyway. Damn glad you're here.
Congratlations on your anniversary.
It sounds like it's been a great year for you!
Here's to fifty more great years for all of us on OS....I know this has been a lifesaver for me.

Happy Blogiversary, Scupper! I'm so glad to know you...xox
I always enjoy your writing here. Whether prose or poetry, its always so evocative.
I've only been here half that time and didn't discover you til a few months ago. But I am a fan!! Happy Anniversary Scupper.
Happy Anniversary. Cheers!
You were one of the first people I met here.
It could have been anyone.
But it was you, and that made all the difference.
Congratubloglations, Scup! I like counting myself your friend.
Sorry for being late to the party, congratulations on your OS anniversary! You are one of my favorites here and I'm happy you aren't going anywhere.
PS-Loved that picture. I used to have a similar set of candle sticks-very cool.
