In the beginning a blank slate.
A smorgasbord on your plate.
In the beginning novelty so fresh.
Minds and bodies that mesh.
In the beginning isn't it grand!
Something new can never be bland.
In the beginning exciting and wild!
A lover has youth like that of a child.
In the beginning the world opens up.
Your as bouncy and playful as a pup.
In the beginning so much delight.
From black and white to colors bright.
In the beginning the world is your oyster.
In your own cocoon you cloister.
Yet beginnings don't last forever.
The years will bring about foul weather.
That's when love is put to the test.
That's when we don't always show our very best.
And yet if we hold onto that strong beginning....
In the end we'll come out winning!
