I wander into a densely wooded place with you
Narrow untrodden ground near a stand of aspen
Clasped together tightly
My movements slight but significant
My body shifts as I peel away a layer of lichen
That holds me inside my own layers
A fleeting glimpse
Of the layers of you
Sensing me
Sensing
The throbbing beat that enchants
Fulfills our purpose
As man and woman
In this untamed forest
Where we dance this thrusting Cordax
Most provocative of Grecian dances
Music by Pan, Echo and the other nymphs
Choreographed by Aphrodite
Culminating at sunset
As Nyx and Hypnos
Take us tumbling into their world
And find a clearing to hold our bodies
While they play out the next number
And we frolic in stillness

Gorgeous words; perfect photo to match.
Ah, the Greeks had it going on just right.
where to start. Should start by apologizing for being tardy
getting here...no excuse for that! I am chastising myself,
nay, castigating myself for that...
There is a wonderful sense of merging with the woods,
"My body shifts as I peel away a layer of lichen
That holds me inside my own layers "...
The stillness of the untamed forest
(but how can something so wild be so still?)
up against
the natural loving movements of the couple...
or are they moving?
just barely , it seems..."slight but significant.."
the real action is internal,
throbbing and reaching romantic telepathy
("A fleeting glimpse
Of the layers of you
Sensing me
Sensing )
with the help of our ancestors,
those pagan gods & goddessess
confined now to the wilderness,
voices not crying out but
singing,
as ever...
I thrive on them. You are all my muses in so many ways.
