Well, there's my original artwork for my first web page. Our assignment is to develop a "web presence" for a fictional company. And I, your intrepid blogger, get to write the description of the company and the history! This is going to be a company that you will all want to visit. Too bad it's fiction.
So, here goes...
In 1981, a young man had a dream. He had a dream to find a wonderful woman and let her support him. To that end, he met Sally. Sally had a dream, too. Sally wanted to open a sandwich shop. Then she met Sammy's Dad.
Sammy's Dad was a real estate tycoon who wanted to see his worthless son settled on someone and off of his hands. To that end, he had a proposition for Sally. He offered to give her, rent free in perpetuity, the perfect location for her sandwich shop. There was one condition. She had to marry Sammy, put his name first on the partnership papers for the sandwich shop, and stay with him forever. Sally wasn't too sure this was a good idea. She insisted that, if she did this, Sammy's Dad would have to eat his lunch there, the sandwich of her choice, every day for the rest of his life, and leave the sandwich shop and it's building to her in his will. He countered with demanding that the sandwich always contain a slice of octopus. Sally agreed.
Thus was born Sammy & Sally's Sandwich Shop (S4) in Hoboken, New Jersey. Actually, outside of Hoboken. Closer to Wall Street, really, because that's where Sammy's Dad works and he needs to eat lunch there every day. (Sally keeps the octopus stocked and mixes it with yarrow and herbs that she especially mixes.) The shop is pretty much right next to the Bull. But Hoboken is the official address.
Sammy & Sally's Sandwich Shop is a delightful place with a plethora of ingredients that change daily. Sally is constantly at the markets buying local produce and the finest organic meats for her menu. Depending on where in the world she is that day, she purchases all manner of exotic quisine to overnight ship to the shop. Ask for it, and she will get it for you. No item is too remote.
S4 will cater your event: business lunches, meetings, conferences, weddings and Bar Mitvahs have all been catered by Sammy & Sally. Please contact us to begin planning your affair. Sally is always available.
As much fun as that would be...
I'll clean it up a bit. We are going for the humor angle, though. Keep an eye on my link...

V., then my work is done.
Shiral, Sammy Salad Sammich. Boy, Sammy must taste pretty good.
libby, thanks!
I have ever read. God bless that Sally.
It is so refreshing to hear that the
American Dream is still alive and well.
The next time I get to Wall Street, I just might pop in!
I might even order a ham and cheese sandwich, if I am feeling
very brave. I hear such good things of ham, from you especially.
Also Margaret. I am missing out on something,
and I do not like missing out, because I am a spoiled brat,
who sure coulda used
a rich daddy
like Sammy had,
who could find me a good capitalist woman to take care of me,
instead of George, that simple schoolteacher dad of mine.
Octopus! Now that is a "delicacy" where I come from,
which is Squares-ville Central.
The place sounds great. I'll be back for lunch! R :-)
Is there much of an up-charge for sandwiches featuring especially endangered species?
Brianne, thanks! It was fun to write.
Pandora, not getting paid to take it, only a break on the tuition because I work there. Hoping it results in huge pay increases somewhere, though. And you'd be fun in the class!
scanner, Sammy was sent out to fish for octopus. He han't been seen in a while.
Stim, no, there is no upcharge. The prices aren't listed on the menu, you know. These Wall Street types don't worry; they write it off as a business expense. And, there is a new endangered delicacy featured weekly! Do you have a preference?
