Broken Rules and Bio Weapons on 24

Rate: 6 Flag

Hour 15 of Season 7 of 24 brought some more great action, and significant developments for Jack -

1. He's been exposed to the bio weapon - is he infected? No way they'll kill Jack ...

2. Jack also - likely under the beneficial influence of what happened previously with Renee and Dubaku's girlfriend - breaks his own rules, and backs up someone when the better move would have been to focus on the mission of getting the bio weapons away from the bad guys. Tony tries to talk him out of it. I'll be glad, if Tony doesn't pay for it.

3. But Tony's captured, and in the custody of Hodges' (Jon Voight's) Starkwood (Blackwater). We know Tony won't break - but how will he break out?

4. One positive development is Moss is apparently believing Jack - evidence at the late Senator Mayer's home, and when the CDC team arrives, they'll confirm that Jack's been exposed to the WMD.

I'm still bothered by the fact that no one other than Renee seems to remember that there may be another terrorist attack. But they'll recall soon enough.... Meanwhile, the President's daughter is cutthroat indeed, Ethan (one of those who should be recalling the country's still in danger) is out, the First Gentlemen is surviving, and let's get Chloe back in action!

No way they kill jack. Not this season anyway. However, they might off Tony. I've noticed that all of the 24 re-treads this season are getting themselves either dead or caught or both. Jack might be developing a conscience and that's not good. On the bright side though, the hearings are over for the Senator what's his name!! Olivia is going to fall...hard. It's not going to be pretty fot that little girl and I'm quite sure that once it happens she'll be uninvited from the Christmas dinner at the family home from here on out.
We really need more Chloe. I'm disappointed that she has been so marginalized this season.
Interesting--I'm thinking that if Jack does buy it, who would replace him? Tony? Or how about Renee (since she's beginning to develop Jack-style ruthlessness)? It would be very interesting to have Renee running around doing what Jack has done. Hmmmm.
Sutherland has announced he is returning for Season 8. Bauer's not going anywhere.
starting to wonder if the bioweapon is a dud, a ruse, an unloaded pistol, if you will.... not sure if starkwood knows it or not, but "Candyman" may have sold the fake in order to feed his own ambitions
Will they kill off Jack? An interesting idea. Theoretically, the show could go on ad infinitum with new "Jacks." After all, how hard is it to find an actor to play the role of a ruthless yet patriotic killer? I suppose that if the shows popularity continues, they'll have to kill off Sutherland. Watching him "whack" foes when he's 80 years old wouldn't be as much fun. But for now, I think he's pretty safe for the remainder of the season.
Actually, I think Jack will be "killed" off this year. Oh, the character will survive, but it might be useful and interesting to have him be "officially" dead. He can become a kind of black ops Keyser Soze.
Just a thought.
The bullet that Baur's been dodging so far must eventually catch up with him. JB is something of a sociopath who would ungovernable in either an adminstrative position or in civilian life; he is the sort who shows up to work with a flame thrower and plastique explosive because the Pepsi machine ate his dollar the afternoon before. Jack Baur deserves to have his skull turned into a canoe.
They won't kill Jack...one of my favorite shows. He may be under the weather for a while...Renee will have to take over maybe and become the female version of Jack...Yes and I want Chloe back. I love female hackers. It makes me feel not quite so nerdy.
Jack will survive. He's the cockroach who gets through it all. With 9 hours to go, they can't kill him off just yet. This isn't Spooks after all.

Since we're seeing the return of all Jack's helpers, I'm betting that we have one more hand to help him. It'll be Chase to the rescue.

Chase, Renee & Larry will carry the show for a couple hours while Jack gets a slice of pizza, goes to the bathroom, and is saved from death due to biological weapon.

As to Olivia, what's her agenda? I have a feeling the President will be asking soon WWDPD?
One possibility: The bioweapon is probably an African virus. Jack just came back from Africa, and was probably vaccinated against most common African viruses.

It's not a question of WILL Jack survive so much as it is a question of HOW Jack will survive. There's no way Jack is buying the farm.

(Still, I wouldn't be willing to make a bet.)
