Hello fiction writers of OS! Here you'll find weekly prompts for Fiction Weekend, as well as links to stories written for each Fiction Weekend Open Call._____________________ EVERYONE is welcome to participate in the open calls. THE ONLY REQUIREMENT IS TO WRITE A FICTION PIECE! __________________________________ Here's how to take part in Fiction Weekend: 1. Every Monday, a prompt will be posted here. Come by and check it out. 2. Ideally, try to write a fiction story based on the prompt. But if the prompt doesn't inspire you, you can write a story on any topic you like - THE ONLY RULE IS THAT IT HAS TO BE A WORK OF FICTION. 3. On Thursday night or Friday morning-ish, the Stories List will be posted for that week. If you've written a story, announce it in the comments section of this post. Please include a short description and the title. 4. Show support for your fellow participants: If possible, please try to read and comment on at least three stories. ________________ For more information, or if you have any questions, please see the list of links below, or feel free to contact me!__________Happy reading and writing!

first one is doable.......but song?.....beyond my limited ability.....heh-heh....
Steel, don't worry - the song one is really vague, if you think about it: it could be a mention of a character singing, a character singing a known song, etc. It could be a big part of the plot, or a minor detail. Not that I wouldn't be interested in reading lyrics you came up with....
OS Fiction Weekend Club for 7/6-8/12:

ORCHARD OF THE GOLDEN APPLES
For the weekend starting July 7th, my short story is A Meditation on Death by a Girl Who Wouldn't Swim. And for once, it actually is short! Only 1500 words.
Teleoperator Clarity Nice investigates a professional taster in Acapulco this week to know who framed her for the theft of a valuable cocktail drink formula. Enjoy the Acapulco Cocktail, light content for the weekend.
My offering this week is an adult children's story, or maybe it's just childish. You be the judge. I hope you enjoy "Jiminy Crickets."
have read and enjoyed them all........thanks guys.....always look forward to these.....
My contribution this week: "Perfect" is about what a man would do with a perfect woman... at least in my mind.

hi, everyone.

my story for 7/6-8 is called "The Black Hole in the Kitchen."
i am sorry for not having paid fiction, and fiction writers,
enough attention lately.
one of my nonfiction
phases, which i think
is over, i hope.
"she never let him eat". dog days. puppy tale.
Weekend fiction club-7/13-15
My piece this week is "Channeling Sinatra" in which the protagonist gets a visit from Old Blue Eyes and you get a tune from the master at the height of his powers....that is if I managed to get the damn video loaded.
Chapter eight of the Acapulco Cocktail is posted, along with earlier installments. Enjoy.
It's Friday the 13th! Spooky. What better way to spend the day than with that loveable Cult Slayer Solomon Kayne in his next adventure The Migou of Calibogue Sound. The resort town of Dunsany Island has everything you could want: beaches, fishing, restaurants, and a murder rate soaring 2000% over last year. Seems the locals are losing their minds and its up to Solomon Kayne to discover the cause . . .if he can keep from becoming the next crazed murderer! (Yeah, like all these bloody stories—pun!—it's long, 16,000 words. No hard feelings if you don't find the time to read it.) Happy reading!
I'm in! http://open.salon.com/blog/nilesite/2012/07/13/os_weekend_fiction_the_role_of_her_dreams
