Hello fiction writers of OS! Here you'll find weekly prompts for Fiction Weekend, as well as links to stories written for each Fiction Weekend Open Call._____________________ EVERYONE is welcome to participate in the open calls. THE ONLY REQUIREMENT IS TO WRITE A FICTION PIECE! __________________________________ Here's how to take part in Fiction Weekend: 1. Every Monday, a prompt will be posted here. Come by and check it out. 2. Ideally, try to write a fiction story based on the prompt. But if the prompt doesn't inspire you, you can write a story on any topic you like - THE ONLY RULE IS THAT IT HAS TO BE A WORK OF FICTION. 3. On Thursday night or Friday morning-ish, the Stories List will be posted for that week. If you've written a story, announce it in the comments section of this post. Please include a short description and the title. 4. Show support for your fellow participants: If possible, please try to read and comment on at least three stories. ________________ For more information, or if you have any questions, please see the list of links below, or feel free to contact me!__________Happy reading and writing!

Fiction Weekend Prompt for 6/8-6/10 2012

Rate: 8 Flag
This week's prompt is:

Write a story from the point of view of the type of  person you probably wouldn't like or would strongly disagree with if you met them.

Or, if that doesn't inspire you, write a fiction piece on any topic, in any style you want.

I'll post the Stories List Thursday night or Friday morning, and participants are free to announce their stories throughout the weekend.

REMEMBER, everyone is welcome to participate in the OS Weekend Fiction Club - the only requirement is that your piece be a work of fiction.

If you don't know what "Fiction" means in terms of this blog, please see this post for an explanation.

If you feel inspired, come join in!  For information on how, check out the basic info in the profile column, near the top left of the border of our blog.

 Happy writing!

Does this have to be FICTION Alysa?
Great prompt.
R
that's easy...I don't like anyone including myself! :)
Having fun with this one! See you Thursday. You know I'm in!
Glad you guys like the prompt idea!

Out on a limb - It definitely should be fiction - though of course if you loosely base it on fact, why not. I thought it could be like, take an archetype of sorts - say, for example, I might not get along with someone who sets traps for foxes. Then I would create a story involving that person. It could be a path for understanding - or it could be a fun way to make fun of someone. Your call!
can it be bout that guy in my mirror?...
R.
Steel Breeze - I guess so. I hope that's not your worst enemy, though!

Makes me think of that song: "It's no surprise to me, I am my own worst enemy. 'Cause every now and then, I kick the living shit out of me".... Now that's going to be in my head all night....Oh boy....
Tough prompt. I don't like reading about characters I find completely unsympathetic (like Anastasia in 50 Shades of Duh) so writing about one will be nigh on impossible. Still thinking about it.
@V.Corso - I thought so too and then called up the least sympathetic character I possibly could imagine and put her story together. Please try it - you'll like it!

Two nice young women, a guy in fuchsia socks, and a pair of kicky boots.
My post this week is "A Gentleman of Fashion." I hope you don't like this guy anymore than I do, but I hope you enjoy the story.
