Hello World! Nick Is Here

After watching the Oscars last night and getting inspired by all the people who are the best at their craft, I made the decision to change the venue of my blog from blogger.com to salon.com. Julie Powell’s success story as depicted in the film “Julie & Julia” has stimulated my senses to finally finish the editing of my book “OMG! I Bought A Crack House: Lessons From The Best Worst Investment I Ever Made.” I had never heard of salon.com until I saw that film, and I had no idea it was this popular website. I was only used to yahooing, facebooking, and googling random people and things.  I bought myself an annual subscription for $29 and I am now ready to give the world a little bit of myself every single day.

I need a goal.  While I do not have 524 Julia Child recipes to finish in 365 days, I do have 254 pages of material based on my crack house investing experience that needs to be edited.  What would be a good goal for a diligent procrastinator and lazy ass go-getter?

I am thinking 6 months.  180 days should be more than plenty of time to edit this monster and then hand it to publishers. If I were to put my thoughts of the book out in the blog world, write about how the editing process is going for me, or even edit it with the help of all you readers, I should be able to finish it within this timeframe.

I did not realize how critical I was of myself until I took my red pen this morning and edited the first 7 pages of my beautiful looking book. I have sentences in the past tense followed by sentences in the present tense, which make no sense. (Did that sound poetic?) I have many redundancies and repetitive words, that made me realize I must’ve been smoking something really potent when writing this thing.

On that note, I bid you all farewell until tomorrow, when I will let you know how everything is going in my life with this book of mine.  Adieu!

Thank you ocularnervosa :)
I had already read this one but got so caught up in actual story that I forgot to post a comment or rate. You have a very gifted way of capturing the attention of the reader. Look forward to the book. Good Luck! P.S. Ignore those who seem to have a negative outlook on it all. There will always be those who want to kill your hope because theirs is dead.
