My handyman Frank isn't just someone who can nail a board or change a washer. Not only is he able to do anything 'handy', he spontaneously comes up with amazing things. A while ago I wrote about his transforming an old telephone into a battery charger for a camera of mine for which the official thing is no longer made. Today he announced that he had the ideal dog comb - inspired by the fact that this is the season when dogs of the full or partial husky persuasion start to molt.
Here he is on my (colorful!) porch demonstrating on his dog.

My dog tolerated but definitely didn't like the old procedure of having the tufts of fur pulled out. And regular grooming brush/comb things caught in the mats. With this jawbone comb, he ... well, he always sort of gives you the hairy eyeball, so I concede that he doesn't look thrilled, but he was much less annoyed than normally when being thus groomed.
Incidentally, I'm saving up the fur to stuff a pillow for the cats.
I wonder - were jawbones the original combs? We do refer to their teeth...
