At times it seems as though clarity comes only as a flash of insight. I have often had trouble keeping one eye on the prize....
This is why I love to write! As I finished the second sentence above I closed my eyes for what I thought would just be a long blink. In doing so a picture popped into my head. I saw myself standing on the ground at the base of a tornado with the wind swirling violently around me. Instead of debris floating in the wind there were flower petals and butterflies. Almost as soon as the picture took form, the wind stopped in a silent thud and all the flower petals and butterflies floated softly to the ground around my feet and in a flash I had peace. Immediately I knew that this was a metaphor for my topic today.
The mind is such an incredible machine. I sit down to write a blog about my inability to follow through on a goal due to lack of vision and before I can even get the words onto the screen, the solution presents itself. I have struggled with my over active mind for years. Sometimes, I just can't turn it off. The flash of insight that I just described, in a second, offered me the solution. A simple visualization tool that I can really relate to. By the way, the flower petals and butterflies represent my thoughts, ideas, grocery lists, music, etc., etc.. I feel like I need to paint a picture of it a put it on my desk as a daily reminder.
Well, there you have it. Clarity of vision is a by product of a peaceful mind. Whatever gets you there, do it! 'Nuff said.
Have a wonderful day!
