I need to state clearly that English is not my first language. There are upwards of 600,000 words in the English language. In my native language there are a mere 11,000 and most of those are entire concepts (kind of like the theory of relativity) rather than words which translate individually.

Thank God and Greyhound this election is almost done!
I'm positive by the end of the election process this time around most of us are going to be singing some version of the following:
Why do I say that? Because this has been a LONG election season and I think we are ALL pretty much on "election… Read full post »
I'm not just playing with myself...
I'm not really playing with myself... I'm playing with my camera... or rather the special effects on my camera.
I took the photo below about a month ago across the back yard. Just FYI that building you see is a Crematorium.

I took these two… Read full post »
My poor car was in an accident...
My poor car... It was in an accident last night. it's in bad shape...

I'm perfectly fine though...
My car was sitting in my driveway and I was sitting in the house.
Someone stopped by, for a minute, to pay a bill...
And as he… Read full post »

The many faces of one small boy
15 months ago a small boy by the name of Mason entered my life. Mason has turned into an absolute HAM when it comes to a camera. The following are just a few of the many faces of "Squeakerbutt" (as I call him).

Kansas SoS Kobach, MOVE and Disenfranchising voters
When Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach came out yesterday with the announcement that the Kansas State Board is considering removing President Obama from the ballot in Kansas he very publicly violated the law known as MOVE. MOVE is the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act of 2009 and… Read full post »
Oh Gawd... have ya heard the latest conspiracy theory?
I had a teenager hit me with it this morning... and I'm still looking at him like he's an idiot a couple of hours later. Why? The kid came to me this morning and said "Did you know the Chinese were PAYING people to commit acts of terrorism on the US?"… Read full post »
I think I LOVE Chris Kluwe! I KNOW I LOVE this letter
He wrote to a Maryland legislator, Emmett C. Burns Jr. who sent a snotty note to the owner of the Ravens regarding an opinion expressed by Brendon Ayanbadejo about marriage equality.

Thinking about a job? I know where there are a LOT of them.
Honest, there are jobs out there... and the pay isn't too bad either. It's actually quite good if you live in a fairly populated area. It's really good pay if you already own all the equipment (and most homeowners do).
Cost of startup... however much it costs in your area… Read full post »

Extremism and Republicans - together again
Yesterday the Republican party put forth their "platform" for this election and the only way to describe it is "extreme". Well, we could call it punative, abusive and ignorant as well.
They start off with: We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and endorse legislati… Read full post »
How I recovered from Republicanism...
This time four years ago you could have called me a conservative Republican. You could have called me that and been reasonably sure I would not be offended. I typically voted Republican. I agreed more with the Republican Party than I did the Democratic Party. To be hones… Read full post »
Cougars East of the Mississippi
I'm smiling this afternoon. Just yesterday a photographer in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan released the following photo of a Cougar taken in the UP:

Did Mitt Romney accept illegal campaign contributions?
According to his own filings with the Federal Election Commission the answer to that question appears to be "multiple times."
In a letter dated March 16, 2012 from the Federal Election commission to the Romney Campaign treasurer, Darrell Crate, the FEC states the following with regard to the J… Read full post »
Seeing Sunday Miracles...
This morning I had to head for Hell (Michigan) for a business meeting.
I left home expecting the 1:00 PM meeting to be about as "Thrilling" as getting a tooth pulled without benefit of anesthetic. In other words - I was really NOT looking forward to this meeting. … Read full post »
President Lincoln guarded by Illegal Alien...
No, that headline is not a joke. One of the men who guarded President Lincoln was an illegal alien. There is even at least one photograph of the illegal alien in question guarding President Lincoln in the National Archives.
I must admit, every time I see people screaming about "ill… Read full post »
Meeting "voices in the dark" in the flesh
Down through the years I have met many people "in the flesh" whom I met virtually (either online or on the radio waves) first.
For years I went to what are called "hamfests" (the ham radio equivilent of a meet and greet combined with a trunk show) simply to meet… Read full post »

The importance of "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" & MY HERO
There is an old saying to the effect of "you are unable to understand another until you have walked a mile in their shoes" and it is a very true statement. Another truth is that we do not spend nearly enough time as a society discussing the effects of domestic violence… Read full post »

What makes a marriage?
This is something I have thought a lot about recently -
Is it the permission slip obtained from the government?
Is it found in the permissions to have sex granted through religious rites which are conducted?
Is it the people involved?
Is it all of those things?… Read full post »
Factor V Leiden...

In most cases, I will defend unto death your right to express your opinion. Why? Because it's your opinion and you are entitled to both hold it and express it.
