Kali Kicks Constant Ass. Why do we wait for a New Year?

Rate: 8 Flag

Picture Above: Kali. ( In a nutshell) - Hindu Goddess, Creator & Destroyer of Worlds. Typically very scary to look at, but don't let the visuals fool you.  She wields those nasty weapons for benevolent reasons.  Mostly.

Whatever I am thinking has turned into what I thought. The letters I'm typing right now are in the past. As creation is constant, so is destruction. This moment is born out of the passing of the last. The future is already here. Or was. A moment ago.

I wrote all of this in a few seconds. They are no more. Instantaneously, new ones are birthed, like the soldiers of myth from dragon's teeth sown in the ground . One falls, another arises. It doesn't even take that long. There is no pause. The inevitability of the next letter, word, line was sown...

Lord, when was it sown??

We could do a Psych Eval and then dig into some History Books and Evolutionary Charts to help us answer that question. But, let's not.  It's 9:30 pm and I have a 6 am class to teach in the morning. Time matters when it comes to sleep. To create a Yoga Teacher anew each morning -balanced, tranquil, compassionate, witty & wise - requires 8 solid hours of nightly deconstruction. And then reconstruction.  Oh, how I do Arise and Unbuild it again.

Dying and being reborn approximately....(math is not my best subject, so bear with me)...57,600 times a day is exhausting.

And Beautiful.

Every second of Life becomes an Opportunity. Every Moment a New Year, a New Day, a New Dawn, a Fresh Slate, a Blank Page (sorry, I know the Blank Page gives some folks a fright - forget that one).

And every second of this Life becomes a Death, as well. What you have lost, what you are losing, what you will lose, are already lost. Allatonce.

What a Dance. Or a Cabaret, even!  I'm feeling a little Louis Armstrong coming on.

Dance on, Kali, Creator and Destroyer of Worlds.

Forget the Year.  You just lived and died. Now, rise up and do it again. And Again.

I'm a junkie for Eastern deities, Kali being of them for representing the "beauty in the breakdown," (Frou Frou) and the amazement of rebirth in its many forms. What a gift. Don't apologize for the blank slate reference; it doesn't scare all of us. Good stuff!
A blank page does scare me. Your writing, on the other hand, entertains the hell out of me. I love your pace and perspective. This will probably only make sense to me but Tom Robbins has come to mind with this post and "If I can't have Johnny Depp...". It's like you're riffing on the page.

Wonderful...and you have invoked, perhaps without knowing it...our own Dakini Dancer of OS, who died this past year. Thank you....she was a light to all of us...xox
What an unexpected and welcome gift this post is. We are mostly banal and myopic in our beliefs about the nature of reality. You and Kali fling open the doors and let in the light and air.
DearDenverD. -Kali is my favorite, helping me accept and understand what I wanted to hide from. And Imogen Heap is another fave (love "Clear the Area" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrT1BMO-qxc)
Dearaintthatamerica: My BFF has been trying to get me to pick up a Tom Robbins book for years. I have him on my list, which I'm very bad about getting to, because I have so many others on many other lists and then my favorites that draw me back again and again. I will take this as a sign that I need to get back to aforementioned list...and as for riffing, I was, in fact, channeling Yvonne Elliman, if that counts :-D
DearRobin: I am so sorry about your friend. I'm also so glad that being reminded of her in any small way brought you a little pleasure.
DearHawley/Good2Shoes: I fling open my door every morning - literally. I cannot stand stale air. You must have some kind of Psychic Powers to have picked up on that. Or maybe it was those mystical places you visited in Louisiana that rubbed off on you :-)

Thank you, each of you, for taking time to read and for your kind comments. And your writing is so darn pretty, too!
The funeral costs of all these dying minutes
are Memory. It's only inevitable
what will happen, not what
meaning you give it, is
my humble opinion.

So: the past is in the future, waiting
to be reborn into some coherent
whole,
which is your life,
which is
in constant process.

So: it is Whole and Complete and done
at each instant, then it dies into
objective immortality,
you might say...
"Dance on, Kali, Creator and Destroyer of Worlds."

Will do:)
A blank page is a glorious opportunity to be siezed upon.
I agree completely with your view, every moment is there to be lived and rejoiced.
Fear is an excuse and there should be no excuses.
Thank you.
