There is a Place called Open Salon

Rate: 38 Flag

Sgt. Pepper Leaves the Band

let me tell you about a place
where the people have a lot of fun
dancing with chicken slacks
stylin' in old blue jeans
very cool
groovy good feelings

hear the fat sax blowin' lean
heavy bass throwin' down
passion playing in my heart
here, there, everywhere
                macaroon madness
with more cowbell
to a stutter strut on the down beat
that rocks me slow
but big boy gotta go
before the ruin of the tailor
from some mean gambler with a trunk
drinking drama drinks shaken —

still a spell's forever on me
needing it so bad
letting it alone
needing it so bad
letting it alone
so bad
gotta go
gotta go
make a voyage to the sun
with pointed toes intact

in and out of style
a poet to friends
mustard salesman to some
my reading glasses on
in the morning
in the evening
I dig love
I dig you

in the starry sky
all good things
will begin
                                        never end

going back down that sunny road

You've opened your own place? As hippy Mike says, cool beans.

I've always enjoyed your creativity, Chuck. Bookmarking the site now so that I can keep finding you. :-D

I too will keep my reading glasses on.

You were never "Mustard" to me, old friend, although that's what you once called yourself. We had far too much in common for that.

I hate to think I'm losing another....
"there comes a time"

always enjoyed your work, chuck
and you commented on my first ever blog
thanks on both accounts
Your verse captures the sense of place in the Open Salon. It was a lot of fun, too.
Bewitched by more than more cowbell...looks damn fine.
"I dig love
I dig you

in the starry sky
all good things
will begin
never end"

Uour poetry is filled with life, though I don't understand every line...I enjoy reading it...

Chuck, I can't believe we won't be seeing you again in the OS venue! If not OS, then I will catch up with you at chuckastetson.com which I checked out already and have to say how great it looks!

May you and your friend have very happy and rewarding times together!
Your site is beautiful Chuck, the photos and poetry blend seamlessly there, I will enjoy reading in such a tranquil place. Nice Work!
All the best to you on your journey~
At least a farewell and not a good bye. I'll keep my reading glasses on too! Love the photo!!
Lovely. Glad to know you'll keep your reading glasses...but I'd feel better if you'd get an extra pair.
Ahh geez...another good one following love instead of lunacy! But we are such a "loverly bunch of..." lunatics! And lovers who will remain hopeful for your swift return, with your darling doe in tow. Now I want to go write a post about sunshine and moonshine. May need a tiny sip of wine first! Cheers to you and to fun in the sun! xo
I'm happy for you! I've been wondering why I haven't seen you very much. I figured it's because I'm not on Open Salon as much as I used to be.
All the best to you, my friend. You have always been a gentleman and a scholar. R
Good luck and safe travels. Enjoy life, love and the beauty that surrounds you. R
I can't do anything but :) and lay Irish Blessings on you both.

Rated for growth.
you are one of the major rocks here, best wishes
Hey, mr. not-so-mean mustard, I'm so glad to hear your happy news. Times change, good news happens, good people find good places to go. I'll head over to your site, and you'll find me there as your story goes on. Keep on digging love. That's all there is.
I've enjoyed a lot of your work over the years Chuck. All the best as you move upwards, onwards, and down the happy road.
:mustard: you remain--depth and best

I am still viewing seagulls.
I enjoyed your new Place.
You will be a genuine Gift.
All the best Chuck. You are a gentleman and a poet.
no. please no! I must've been recharging my battery and have been gone too long and missed something here....You were my first good friend on OS and I just took for granted that I'd always be able to read you whenever I wanted.

especially with lines like, "passion playing in my heart
here, there, everywhere
macaroon madness
with more cowbell"
I followed `Heidi Herron.

People ca be who they choose.

This blogger`Mr. Stetson reminds me:`
`
Paradise Lost
or
Paradise here
as in inner us
`
The Mind is its own Place
And in itself, can be Heaven
and a Hell` as in we do make
`
a heaven in hell
or
a hell in potential paradise.
`
That's paraphrased.
I may comment `gin.
I respect his decision.

The grief @ OS is a`Sigh. Aye.
I could tell more. Never mind.
I choose to avoid strife. Amen.

I'll get scolded by a Librarian?
She no likes blogger to yell O!
I best get a bag of sleepy teas.

Sip wine in moderation. Whine?
No toss grey stones at the Moon.
No fight a war where there is Life.
I am just banter. Warrior at Peace.
Shush.

Oh for the days of future passed.
Your poem sounds like a song too...like Springteen, maybe, or Dylan or Bon Jovi...or U2...
