of clear stream beckons,
etched path, empty now save mud,
leaves, moss-covered rocks
beyond dripping spring
it transforms before no one
to oft-traveled road
and only I can see it. Read full post »
While Raking
Watchful
with a twitch, phoebe
visits shell of homestead to
sense if it's still safe
The Dirt
Unspoiled
Crash
Blinding
Huddling
over steamy cups
of coffee, tea; muttering,
cursing spring wind chill
By the Stars
Patience
cardinal couples
puff and hunker together
awaiting springtime
Coyote Dreams
Early Spring Walk
pale light, matted leaves
sodden moss near fallen trees
old snow reflects warmth
Routine
Patient Tendrils
For a Moment
No One
Morning Stars
early winter light
seeps over crystal hilltops
tree's snowdrops ablaze
Tunnel
Healing Snow
Newborn's Smile
Compassion
Awaken to find
wide absence. void jolts, frightens.
sorrow only builds
Primal
otherworldy screech
tears up spine, forces quick end
to quiet fall walk
Absent
away down the road
while he grew up alone, sad
man now rises up
lonely eyes open
action spurred at others' pain
down that road is death
