- Bio
- After a long career as a nurse then Realtor in the Pacific Northwest, where I spent so many seasons enjoying the rugged beauty of the area, I headed to San Diego, California then the warmer, tropical locales of the Pacific Coast of Mexico and Puerto Vallarta.
During my travels I have had the opportunity and good fortune to pursue my dream career, that of journalism and writing. Inspired by the beauty around me, whether created by God or Man, I have written and reported about what I saw and the people I met. I have over 350 published articles from Gig Harbor, Washington to Guadalajara, Mexico.
Current projects include ongoing publication of articles on various subjects, website text publishing and a collection of essays on my experiences about living and loving in a foreign country and life lessons I have learned along the way.

Don’t Worry Be Happy-I'm Trying Already, Back Off!

I have to admit things are better than they were a few weeks ago. I am no longer embroiled in a muddled, hysterical conflict with my two of my three brothers over our inheritance. My third and eldest brother was invited not to be a part of the family business… Read full post »
Mendocino Mirror
After a long day of shop hopping with my husband on a chilly windy early spring day in the severely upscale funky perched on a craggy bluff Mendocino, California, I caught a sideways glimpse of myself in a jewelry store mirror. I actually did a kind of reverse moon walk and… Read full post »
How I Quit Thinking ~ Or How Yoga Saved My Life
One of the first things I read after “being hurt”- I still have trouble saying “raped”- was that it would take at least five years to recover. I remember thinking that I didn’t have five minutes to give this, let alone five years. I did know that I needed to… Read full post »
Safeway Bakery Cake
The sugary mass that assails the throat
‘makes us shiver with its sweet coat
No other cake will ever do,
no other cake has the perfect sweetened goo
We wait anxiously for birthday’s, my daughter and I
then off to Safeway, a frosted cake we buy… Read full post »
Diamond Heart
Through a train wrecked love life I survived
With one last gleaming gift to give
A shimmering, incandescent expression
A diamond heart illuminating from a silver string
Clouds of dreams, coasts and warm sand
Musical fantasies meant for manifestation
The harmonized… Read full post »
Love is a sly Fox
Suffering shadows and the shifts and shimmers of time have woven my contemplations opaque.
Just because you are a gentle breeze from an earlier era does not discount the present.
Just because you know me from a different perspective doesn’t mean this is not white hot and real.… Read full post »
This June
The sun has forgotten how to shine this June
Flowers haven’t found the warmth to bloom
The waters outside my window remain a chilly grey
Inside their homes most people stay
It doesn’t surprise me that winter hasn’t ended
My broken heart will… Read full post »
Dulce Beso de Adios
You may close your eyes but I will linger
I turn only to feel you, inhale you, taste you
Above, in the sky, like the moon, I am there with you feel me
I am sparkly, electric nebulous - I have forgotten to breathe
You… Read full post »
Assignment: Write About a Kiss.
My brain was a little off center, foggy as an El Norte San Francisco morning. I had a hangover, the first one in probably two, three years, the first one that I can remember in a long time.
He started to pack up his computer and leave… Read full post »
We Don't Need No Stinkin'Umbrellas
While waiting for my poached eggs and toast on a rainy Sunday in the Lower East side, I had plenty of time to study how New Yorkers use umbrellas. Somewhere between," I'll check on your breakfast" and "the Manager will speaking to you about your order", I noticed that when it… Read full post »
