There's no better source for a different, but valid, perspective on history. That's why I use his book in my AP U.S. history class.
Thanks for your comments, Noah. It is clear why the steaming masses would disregard such a book, but I've never understood why progressives of all persuasions would not revere this book and the man who has experienced life from so many significant perspectives.
I hate to admit I didn't know who Howard Zinn was before seeing this post. Thanks for the intro. He makes me wish my dad was still alive so I could ask him some more questions. Like Howard, dad was an Air Force bombardier over Europe during WWII, but would not talk about it much. In the end, I think he carried a lot of suffering and confusion to his grave.
My son turned me on to Howard Zinn and I bought his DVD from Amazon. Matt Damon grew up next to him or something and narrates it. He has a new video coming out.... I'll ck out these two and the top and see if one of them is it. He is an incredible man! I love it that he got fired! That was a very interesting part of his story.
Resistanceisfruitful - Thanks for visiting. I think the more you know about Howard Zinn, the more you will find his thoughts congruent with yours.

MiddleAgedWomanBlogging - I am forever grateful for my work at Pacifica radio, WBAI in NYC for giving me the opportunity to meet and speak with Mr. Zinn on more than one occasion. I thank you for alerting me to these two media and will surely seek them out.
Mark - You can call me RIF; it's easier on both of us. :-)
