The Challenge:

1. Write a poem, in any form, from the perspective of a river ... not about a river ... but from the river's own outlook. Become the river!

2. The river's name must be included in the poem AND the name must be that of an Australian river! (A list of Australian rivers and creeks can be found here. By clicking on the name of the river or creek you will find a wealth of information which might be useful in your poem!)

3. There must be at least one word beginning with the letter 'q' in the poem.

4. A number, OR date, OR year, should also appear in the poem.

Little Kate, thank you for such a great and talentful list. I am now reading what I haven't seen in the OS, some of the best works, as always go unnoticed in here, and your creativity challenge is a need in here. Rated, with gongratulations to you, for the brilliant idea and to all of the writers. Thank you.
very nice Kate. Good to see them all in one place
This sounds challenging. If I had more time available, I would enjoy trying this.....but writing poetry is a laborious task for me! :(
How are you, Kate?! :)
I guess I wasn't up to the challenge, but thank you for sharing the anthology with us, Kate.
Kate, some absolutely wonderful reading here. Have a few notes but as yet, nothing is happening. If it should happen..will send you a message. In the meantime..I will enjoy the beautiful words of others.
Hooray, little kate! Creative collaboration...for the Aussie in all of us. You and the other riverpoets here make my jones to visit your isla all the worse and I find I *like* it worse!! Thanks and kudos ~
Thank you! I loved every one of these river poems.
Kate - thanks for putting this together. That's a lot of work! What beauty you have flowing from your wonderful challenge. R for gRatitude. :-)
I have missed some so I am going to catch up.
Love you..
I have a whole word document with failed Australian river attempts. Rivers shouldn't rhyme was my final feeling.
Really enjoyed reading the others and grateful for the challenge.
Also, what Stahi Stahi said.
Oooo...I've been meaning to do this, Kate! Will try to squeeze this in soon! Such a great idea!
Dear Kate, thank you for the challenge as well as this anthology. I'll mark it so that I can return and read all the talented poets who have contributed and those will still do. This has been a delightful practice.

Thank you again, so much, for challenging us this way. I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to pull it off. I had serious doubts about being able to interpret everything from my river's point of view.
But this was such an enjoyable journey. I really hope you'll offer many other such Aussie themed challenges upcoming. What fun!

"q" what made you decide on "q" ...hugs, I enjoyed yours, i will go back later for the rest. I forgot for a moment, you were the river and I got worried how you were being used... ha ... such great writing to make me forget.

Now a resource. Very well done.
Hi LK, this was so much fun.
Thank you for allowing me to join in.
Now I’m off to read and enjoy the other contributions.

Kate, I want to thank you so much for accepting me in your challenge. It made me feel like I am among friends and same sensitivities. It is a true honour to me, being among these excellent poets and seeing my name in your anthology, made my day. I am gonna read all I have missed , waiting for the next challenge. Thank you again for your friendship.
