BREAKING: New Gulf Coast Drilling Approved While BP Oil Spill Continues To Grow

                          oil swirls

This just came from CARE2.com. I'm not sure what to think about our President if this is true.

His decision to delve deeper into the Minerals Management Service and start an overhaul of that group was one positive step resulting from this whole catastrophe. A criminal investigation this week was also something the public has been clamoring for since the spill began.

I have been defending him and trying to get people to see both sides of what he has to deal with, but if he has truly lifted his moratorium for this drilling...I don't know what to think anymore.

It's not like we can flip a switch and stop using fossil fuels.
Did you know we export coal?
He plans on raising taxes on all oil companies over this, which will cause us to pay more at the pump, but if he allows more and more drilling the amount of oil available will keep the price down. And more oil means more taxes revenue that he says he will spend to advance green tech, once we can rely on that, in about 50 years, we can stop using oil.
Don't hold you breath waiting for him to do anything usefull. 45+ days and it's all talk.
I know that he is a very smart man and I want to have faith because I think that he does have a plan, I just see the enormous toll it takes to fight against the status quo and it seems he gives in because of that pressure. I don't want to be one of those that thinks that because things don't get fixed quickly, its not because they're not trying to fix it....
