Kudos to the Parent!!
I actually kind of liked the Dad's approach to this--a bit extreme, but you know, some Dad at some time has to start drawing the line.
I posted on this earlier...
To me, this was just plain PATHETIC. All this parent did (in between setting an EPIC example by cussing and smoking while taping this video), was teach his child that when SHE now in turn gets pissed off or offended, hell, grab a hand gun and shoot something.
This guy is an ignorant prick. The daughter has a point. If the parents are ordering her around like she says they are, to get them coffee on demand, and clean up the mud they trod in...it sounds like he is an immature father, who was bossed around by his own parents and couldn't wait to get his own kids, so he could muscle them and treat them as slaves. The cigarette is bad enough, but then pulling out the gun is overtly and covertly threatening, implying that if something worse were to happen, that he could put a "bullet thru" her head. This guy should be watched by law enforcement. And what's up with shooting off a handgun within city limits? Where does he live? Why weren't police dispatched to his home when the shots rang out? I don't know what region he lives in, but it sounds scary.
I think I may have given the computer away instead of killing it but he made his damn point so yes he did pretty good.
He could have backed over the laptop with his truck, saved the bullets and shortened the lame speech.

One shotgun shell would have sufficed. The guy is an asshat.

...and shooting into the ground at close range is dangerous.
He may think he won the battle, but I think he lost the war.
Good luck getting the $130 back.
My Dad had is issues but I am glad he wasn't this guy.
Nice to see your smiley face in the updates, hope you don't stay away so long again.

I watched all 8 minutes of it this morning and that kid had better pay for the bullets hahaha
HUGGGGGGGGGG
Only a PUNK loses their kid's respect; only a LOSER and a COWARD would never have it in the first place.

Only an imbecilic credulous cowardly insecure scared weak little scrub EVER mis-uses a firearm.

Too bad, sooooo sad. Move to Hawaii when you're 18 kid, let em mop up his own mess if HE makes it!!!
I saw most of this (Youtube crapped out about six and a half minutes in). This father is pathetic. By making this video, he is putting himself on the same level as his daughter, showing about the same level of maturity. There are so many things wrong with the way he is handling this situation I couldn't even begin to address them. I pity his daughter, with him as a role model. I can only hope the mother has more sense - but then, she married this jerk, so she can't be all that bright. Sad.
Violence breeds violence; ignorance breeds ignorance. If I were Dear Old Dad, I'd put a few extra locks on the gun cabinet.

I am suspicious of this since most of these things turn out to be bogus. However, if this a real dad and real family they have given a whole new meaning to the word dysfunctional.
I thought this was pretty funny. I have a teenager on facebook and if I had seen him write a letter like that, I would have been irate, too. I probably wouldn't have handled it quite THIS way, though. Hard to say how I'd react when I was in the moment, but I like to think I would have done something a little more subtle. And we don't have guns, so that part's out. Maybe I would have required her to actually do ALL the chores she listed in the original letter. Maybe I would have made her write an apology to her mother, step-mom, and the "cleaning lady" for being such a spoiled brat. Either way, dad made a definite statement.
I wrote on the same topic. Got some very strong opinions.
