Loud music is actually a regular feature on our street, though the chipmunks were an amusing departure from the usual full-blown, live, middle-of-the-night rap concerts. Last night instead of "happy birthday to you" we were treated to a shooting. Whee!
The scariest part was when two teenage girls walking down the street, which was by then packed full of cops, emergency vehicles and a mob scene of gawkers, paused as one of them said in a tone of swoony disbelief, "Look ... it looks like a movie set ... It's awesome."
