Why Do Bullies Have So Much Influence??
We see it, read about it every day, whether it be politicians, business people or broadcasters, the ones that speak the loudest and are the most critical get all the attention. Immediate examples that come to mind are Ann Coulter or Richard Cheney, FOX News as a whole, Newt Gingrich.
The Kar-trashians, The Final Saga
Late August, I posted a blog piece titled, " My Divorce from the Kardashians is Final". This was before "My Fairy Tale Wedding" was broadcast on E and of course before the divorce.
Okay, now it is November and alright I do have an ego, one line that I wrote in… Read full post »
It use to be called the Rat Race, now it is the Machine Race
A short of a very long story is that I wrote a complaint letter to AT&T, the giant of all giant telecom companies to voice my anger with the irritating customer support interface, that computer voice on the phone, that just does not go away.
You know that computer voice, the… Read full post »
Fear of Frying
Okay, I will admit it, I have a fear of frying. I have had this fear since I was a kid. Something about having a huge pot of boiling oil on the stove that if it tipped over could burn me severely or could cause a fire instantly, sends me into… Read full post »
Why Steven Job's Death Saddens Me
Okay, I just wrote a post about bad people becoming saints once they die, so I had death on the brain, but for some reason Steven Job's death has really affected me.
First off, he died in a very quiet way. Pictures of him, basically showed that the disease in his… Read full post »
Why are Bad people turned into a Saint when they die?
I have never been to a funeral where someone says something bad about the person who has died, even if they really were not a great person. For some reason, anyone who is dead suddenly turns into this angelic person.
My father died ages ago at the age of 48, of a… Read full post »
A Union Needs to be created for Retail Employees
For full disclosure, I am deranged, I have an Ivy League degree and an MBA and I work for an outdoor retailer on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, so of course I am deranged.
The store is a block away from where I live and the mission of the store to encourage… Read full post »
Robots, Machines, Who needs humans?
Has anyone else noticed the news on Foxconn, the Taiwanese company that manufactures the Ipads and Iphones? According to the rumors on the internet, another Taiwanese company has landed orders on the Iphone5 called Pegatron.
Now, not only are these Chinese companies but Foxconn had such a high s… Read full post »
$60 billion would go a long way to help the economy
A report just came out by the Commission on Wartime Contracting that at least $60 billion was wasted spending in Iraq and Afghanistan. Gosh, $60 billion would have gone a long way towards solving the budget crisis of the United States.
Recently, a colleague who I had shared an… Read full post »
My Divorce is Final from the Kardashians
Okay, for full disclosure, although I am highly educated, I have watched the Kardashians on and off over the last few years. It started off that I would watch if I was home, tired and just wanted to "veg out" in front of the TV. During the last year, having… Read full post »
Can I be human and still have a corporate job?
I read in my meanderings on the internet a woman concerned that she could not admit that she practiced yoga on her blog, or through her twitter account lest potential employers think that her head was in the clouds.
Are we in a world, where in order to get hired you… Read full post »
A Melt Down Over Local Ice Cream in Chicago
There is a furor in Chicago over the possible shut down of one of the star products, in the local, artisanal ice cream scene, Nice Cream that was first reported here, by Monica Eng of the Chicago Tribune on August 5th.
The issue is that owner, Kris Swanberg, had a visit… Read full post »
Dining With the Enemy
I still dont' know what to do. One of my best friends has invited me up to Michigan with her for the weekend. Originally, the plan was to go to a charity BBQ event but the plans change as they do, one thing lead to another, I being a guest just… Read full post »
Sorry, You've Expired
Once upon a time in a far away land companies looked for employees that were loyal, knowledgable and capable, education was valued and more experienced employees were shown respect for the time that they had put into the company by the younger newer ones. Management in this land actually looked… Read full post »
The Media Fuels the Fire
I had originally made this post a comment in response to David Sirota's article, USA, USA, is the wrong response. But then I thought I would post it here. For me, I find that the public has such misplaced energies, the things that we should really care about taking/
