I'd like to write something new and fun. But I'm drawing a blank. How do you draw a blank? Is it the simplistic beauty of the blank page?

New and Improved Death and Destruction

Rate: 2 Flag

I did a modicum of research on this article. It appears to be genuine. It may have been posted before on OS, I have no way of knowing.

It seems worthy of consideration due to its author's expertise and experience with said content.

‘The Axis of Idiots’ by J. D. Pendry - Sergeant Major, USMC, Retired

May 5, 2008 · This is Under Bush-

Then I added comments as to why I submitted this for consideration..

‘The Axis of Idiots’

Jimmy Carter, you are the father of the Islamic Nazi movement.  You threw the Shah under the bus, welcomed the Ayatollah home, and then lacked the spine to confront the terrorists when they took our embassy and our people hostage.  You’re the runner-in-chief.

"I don't agree with this statement (that doesn't mean I know he's wrong) and being the opening it is off-putting. But this is a guy you want charging, I just don't want him charging at me."

"In the next paragraph I'm a bit put-off by him skipping Reagan and Senior Bush. I thought pulling out of Iraq was a mistake and dishonored all the lives lost. I will agree with him later when he says we need fight to win. To me it means we need to think this out prior to going in. What are our objectives? It also means American's must have the stomcahe for it or they'll vote me out. We needed a lot of prodding to get into the first TWO wars to end all wars."

Bill Clinton, you played ring around the Lewinsky while the terrorists were at war with us.  You got us into a fight with them in Somalia and then you ran from it.  Your weak-willed responses to the U.S.S. Cole and the First Trade Center Bombing and Our Embassy Bombings emboldened the killers.  Each time you failed to respond adequately, they grew bolder, until 9/11/2001.

I agree that we were just enjoying ourselves under Uncle Bill. We didn't want to be bothered with outside trivial pursuits, like death and destruction. Presidents are remembered for many reasons, the greats are made so by the foes they face.

How would Bill Clinton handle this period instead of the one he got? People presiding over pretty easy rides are remembered fondly by those that lived through them, but not so much by history. Because they had no great foe to overcome...or to lose to.

Let me state, I get warm and fuzzy over Uncle Bill's years too. However, no one is an island. Things foment over time.

John Kerry, dishonesty is your most prominent attribute.  You lied about American Soldiers in Vietnam ..  Your military service, like your life, is more fiction than fact.  You’ve accused our military of terrorizing women and children in  Iraq ..  You called Iraq   the wrong war, wrong place, wrong time, the same words you used to describe Vietnam ..  You’re a fake.  You want to run from Iraq and abandon the Iraqis to murderers just as you did the Vietnamese.   Iraq , like Vietnam , is another war that you were for, before you were against it.

Politicians must appease so many people to get elected it's a sad state. In fact they change their stories from state to state. Honest Abe Lincoln did it, to get elected.

John Murtha, you said our military was broken.  You said we can’t win militarily in Iraq ..  You accused United States Marines of cold-blooded murder without proof and said we should redeploy to Okinawa .   Okinawa, John?   And the Democrats call you their military expert!   Are you sure you didn’t suffer a traumatic brain injury while you were off building your war hero resume?   You’re a sad, pitiable, corrupt and washed up politician.  You’re not a Marine, sir.  You wouldn’t amount to a good pimple on a real Marine’s backside.  You’re a phony and a disgrace.  Run away, John.

In this last paragraph I know nothing and have know opinion. Other than this guy has some pretty strong feelings about John Murtha and it ain't "don't ask don't tell".

Dick Durbin, you accused our Soldiers at Guantanamo of being Nazis, tenders of Soviet style gulags and as bad as the regime of Pol Pot, who murdered two million of his own people after your party abandoned Southeast Asia to the Communists.  Now you want to abandon the Iraqis to the same fate.  History was not a good teacher for you, was it?  Lord help us!  See Dick run..

There are facts here. Pol Pot did what he did. It is possible this could happen again if we pull out and leave a vacuum to be filled by people we would need to fight later.

Ted Kennedy, for days on end you held poster-sized pictures from Abu Ghraib in front of any available television camera.  Al Jazeera  quoted you saying that Iraqi’s torture chambers were open under new management.  Did you see the news, Teddy?   The Islamic Nazis demonstrated another beheading for you.  If you truly supported our troops, you’d show the world poster-sized pictures of that atrocity and demand the annihilation of it.  Your legislation stripping support from the South Vietnamese led to a communist victory there.  You’re a bloated, drunken fool bent on repeating the same historical blunder that turned freedom-seeking people over to homicidal, genocidal maniacs.  To paraphrase John Murtha, all while sitting on your wide, gin-soaked rear-end in  Washington …

He seems a tad miffed here. As though he's angry about warriors dying in vain.
Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Carl Levine, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Russ Feingold, Hillary Clinton, Pat Leahy, Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, the Holly wood Leftist morons, et al, ad nauseam; Every time you stand in front of television cameras and broadcast to the Islamic Nazis that we went to war because our President lied, that the war is wrong and our Soldiers are torturers, that we should leave Iraq, you give the Islamic butchers - the same ones that tortured and mutilated American Soldiers - cause to think that we’ll run away again, and all they have to do is hang on a little longer. It is inevitable that we, the infidels, will have to defeat the Islamic jihadists. Better to do it now on their turf, than later on ours after they have gained both strength and momentum.

I don't know anything about the people he calls out other than they're in politics (which makes them liars). The use of the word Nazi is so strong I stop when I see it and ponder.  I agree with the rest of the paragraph. We or the media should not be aiding the people trying to kill us.

I'm upset about mutilating anytime. Saddam Hussein's regime was depsotic. No doubt.

American news media, the New York Times particularly:  Each time you publish stories about national defense secrets and our intelligence gathering methods, you become one united with the sub-human pieces of camel dung that torture and mutilate the bodies of American Soldiers.  You can’t strike up the courage to publish cartoons, but you can help Al Qaeda destroy my country.  Actually, you are more dangerous to us than Al Qaeda is.  Think about that each time you face Mecca to admire your Pulitzer.

The pendulum he's trying to swing back I agree with.  His terms of others I don't.  America does not need to be fully exposed. I know I don't have the cahones to publish a cartoon figure of Mohammed. We're afraid. I assume everyone here does know WE are infidels and WE must die. That is written.

You are America ’s ‘AXIS OF IDIOTS.’  Your Collective Stupidity will destroy us.  Self-serving politics and terrorist-abetting news scoops are more important to you than our national security or the lives of innocent civilians and Soldiers.  It bothers you that defending ourselves gets in the way of your elitist sport of politics and your ignorant editorializing.  There is as much blood on your hands as is on the hands of murdering terrorists.  Don’t ever doubt that.  Your frolics will only serve to extend this war as they extended Vietnam …  If you want our Soldiers home as you claim, knock off the crap and try supporting your country ahead of supporting your silly political aims and aiding our enemies.

I like the previous statement. This one gets personal and ugly.

Yes, I’m questioning your patriotism.  Your loyalty ends with self.  I’m also questioning why you’re stealing air that decent Americans could be breathing.  You don’t deserve the protection of our men and women in uniform.  You need to run away from this war, this country.   Leave the war to the people who have the will to see it through and the country to people who are willing to defend it.

Again, I like this guy. He defended us, he's the reaosn we have the time to be on OS and write. "WE can't handle the truth."

No, Mr. President, you don’t get off the hook, either.  Our country has two enemies: Those who want to destroy us from the outside and those who attempt it from within.  Your Soldiers are dealing with the outside force.  It’s your obligation to support them by confronting the AXIS OF IDIOTS.
America must hear it from you that these self-centered people are harming our country, abetting the enemy and endangering our safety.

Well up a little anger, please, and channel it toward the appropriate target.  You must prosecute those who leak national security secrets to the media.  You must prosecute those in the media who knowingly publish those secrets.

It's not so bad. When considered from the middle. As I said earlier: Without our military, we would not be here writing.

We are still searching for the "poet/warrior" leader...

Our Soldiers need you to confront the enemy that they cannot.  They need you to do it now.

And the enemy is us that benefit from J.D. Pendry, Seargent Major, USMC laying they're lives on the line for us.

Who is the super idiot?

I actually think we're a bit too full of ourselves. We're not worthy of history.

Unless you put us with greed and gluttony... then we're right there.
Rant=creatively interpreting events to support one's own narrow view of the world.

It's always enlightening to see the demonization of Communism, lust for oil, and silence on our most favored torturing nation China codified into one gassy post. Where was this righteous outrage when Africa was being raped by Colonial Apartheid thugs? When Africa was disintegrating into a bloody civil war of ethnic cleansing. Why is it that SAPs (Standard American Patriots) feel they and the extreme right are the only ones who can define patriotism?
I hadn't thought of it that way.

He certainly appears to support a narrow view. However, I read it as commenting on a much wider scale of our short-falls. He just hammers a single view, while addressing many failures, weaknesses and foibles.

I happen to side with our soldiers, who are fighting wars we don't seem to give good reasons for. Which seems to diminish their sacrifices in said wars in my humble opinion.

I believe we're there for oil, doesn't make me right. It just makes me tired of hearing about weapons of mass destruction as a poor excuse.

I don't have his experience or qualifications to comment on his feelings. I posted this to show the view of a person with combat experience and obvious emotional involvement in a topic I hear a lot about from people with none of the above expertise.

It does not make him right, but it does not diminish his opinion either.
"You must prosecute those who leak national security secrets to the media. You must prosecute those in the media who knowingly publish those secrets."

Shall we start with Cheney/Rove for outing a CIA agent?

This is, indeed, a very narrow view, but it doesn't make his statements untruthful. It just makes him the witness who saw car two collide with car three, but who didn't see the Mac Truck that started it all.
This is so hard to react to because it's so irrational and self-contradictory. On the one hand (just one of many choices!), it says "...your frolics will only serve to extend this war..." as if the war was a mistake and pointless (yes, the writer is correct, ok, I'm with you) and then later, the writer says: "...leave the war to the people who have the will to see it through." Um, but I thought the writer wanted not to extend this stupid pointless war?

Obama is trying to end both wars (including the undeclared mistake that is Afganistan; being just a loose end that Bush and Cheney thought they'd tied up, when in fact, they pulled the shoelace).

These were not wars our current President started. But he will finish them, and with as much honor and dignity as is left on the American name. And too, he is trying to offer our returning soldiers the help they deserve, instead of shuttling them off to that rat hole Walter Reed, or to the mental illness, homelessness and suicide that Bush's utter disdain let them fall into.

And if the writer thinks our President is "more dangerous" than Al Qaeda, then this writer is not only diminishing the threat of Al Qaeda but is very, very naive about that organization. Writers like these are so helpful to the enemies of our country by remaining so dim-witted and child-like.

But wait, I digress into sense. Sorry!
Hmm, I think I get it.

I rate posts that go against my views and make me think. It appears ratings for many are for those they agree with.
I think I know that guy from another message board, and it's because of him I never forgave Kurt Vonegut. After one night of the guys delusional rants I made the comment, "You don't live in the state of Florida, you live in the 51st state, the state of denial".

Big laughs.

Not two weeks later Vonnegut appeared on the Daily Show and used the same line about Conservatives! OK so maybe I wasn't that clever and original but none the less, the timing was very suspicious. Now the guy has passed away so I can't confront him over it and the line is his for all posterity. Darn you Kirt.
One of the things I like here is how the author goes through a lot of years.

Many people, past and present seem to blame the sitting President, as though he arrived to a clean slate.
OK, gotta got to work. So this is on its own for awhile.

Hopefully there will be some great things to consider when I get back.
what a rant.
and not biased in the least, eh?
I really love the center alignment of you text as well. Are you trying to craft a Hallmark card?
Um, I just cut and paste, clearly I didn't write it.. I don't think it would make a very good Hallmark Card.

Yes it is biased. I posted it to give thought, not because I agree.
I understand Larry.

I certainly wasn't asking for ratings, just commenting on people statig they don't rate things they don't agree with.

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts...
