What Brings You Joy? (open call)

Rate: 13 Flag
The Missouri River
It dawned on me the other day that I am most joyful when I am truly loving and when I am truly living.
What brings me joy:
1.) Anticipating the birth of my child and meeting her/him for the first time.
2.) Helping others.
3.) Interacting with people automatically elevates my mood and emotions.

4.) Selflessly giving to someone even when it's not easy.

5.) Service to others or for a noble cause that will make a difference to others.

6.)Creating.... whether it's a painting, taking pictures, or writing.

7.)A little child screaming out of delight because  I'm home or in the case of a grandchild, arriving. i.e. Shyann yelling with happiness, "Grandmaaaaaa," when she saw me walking toward her at Macken Park. Or the other day when Zoe recognized my car arriving to pick her up and she started screaming with excitement simply because I arrived. Shortly after I asked her (in fun) if she was scared and that's why she yelled, she said no. She said it was because she was excited.

8.)Teaching especially when the student "gets it."

9.) Surprising a loved one with a gift, a visit, or whatever.

10.) Going out of my way for someone.

11.) Running at the park where the river is my companion. The view is inspiring.

12.) Preparing and serving a dinner to guests who appear to truly appreciate it.

13.) Doing what I know is the noble thing to do.

14.) Praying or attending a gorgeous liturgy/Mass.

15.) Listening to some of my favorite pieces of music which include: Gregorian Chant, Sacred Music such as Palestrina, Bach, Beethoven etc.
(The photograph is one of mine taken of the river I run near.)

I'd love to hear from all of you! Thank you for reading my post.
Being in love stands alone at the top. After that comes Häagen-Dazs ice cream, then good literature and music and the ocean. R
Your photo is beautiful and so is your list what a lot to ponder rrrrrrrrr
What brings me joy? Too many things to say, Patricia, although many of them are on your list. But I'd have to say little unexpected surprises (good ones) are at the top. Like when someone holds the door for me or says something nice and out of the blue. Or when I do things like that and surprise someone else. It's the little things that really seem to bring the most pleasure.
Your photo brings me joy.
To know you run along that river brings me joy.

Children, of course ; & small fluffy dogs that roll on their backs ;
when a stranger smiles ; lemon blossoms ; white clouds ;
fresh pyjamas ; trainsets ; toast ; "I love you," ... as you can see,

I'm pretty easy :-)
Right at this time of year I love to sit on the patio with my husband sip a glass of wine and watch our garden burst into bloom. Guess I'm easy too./r
Your list rules and so do you.

The love of a kitten, the love of my husband--both unconditional--the ocean, the mountains of Vermont. R
What a beautiful place to run! That alone would be joyful! Thoth has pretty well got my joys covered beyond that. :D
I couldn't agree more.
Love the photo.
A selfless, husband, the most loving person I have ever known, bar none.
nature, wilderness areas, lakes and oceans
being my own boss
helping other people or society
being home
