Egyptian husbands will soon be legally allowed to have sex with their dead wives – for up to six hours after their death.
The controversial new law is part of a raft of measures being introduced by the Islamist-dominated parliament.
It will also see the minimum age of marriage lowered to 14 and the ridding of women’s rights of getting education and employment.
That’s right… the age old complaint about her “having a headache” won’t stand in your way anymore!
The so-called Farewell Intercourse Law was passed because a Muslim cleric said in 2011 that marriage continues up to six hours after death.
The proposal may never even be considered and might not become law however the fact that it was proposed shows the huge gulf between Western and Islamic societies.
