Hey Hey
It’s the fifth of May!
Not just any regular old day
in … May.
Sirs or Senors, Ladies or Senoritas,
it’s time to buy the mix.
To fix,
some mean mean Margaritas.
“Festive day today,”
added to my bio
You’d have to be loco
to not celebrate
cinco di mayo.
(almost nothing rhymes with mie- oh,by the way.)
The plan so far is to get drunk ,
and eat nachos in Tijuana.
Much more fun than
Rosh Hashana.
Dipping all those Nacho chips in Salsa
Will make me so ... chipper
Such a better holiday than Yom Kippur.
If I get lucky I’ll be invited to Bellwethers’ to hit a piñata.
Lotta candy come raining down
into my Horchata.
Chorus: Don’t be a lone-ah
Pick up the phone-ah
Get the gang together for taquitos and Coron-ah.
Wikipeda says it’s a day to commemorate the battle of Puebla
And, it’s not, as thought, Mexico’s independence day.
Meh.
I just hope one of Bellwether's friends
brings a chimichanga tray.
(Nothing rhymes with Puebla-- or chimichanga.)
Not latino, or Hispanic, or even manic?
Festivity can be had, don’t you panic.
Chorus: Don’t be a lone-ah
Pick up the phone-ah
Get the gang together for taquitos and Coron-ah.
Possible addition to chorus:
Holy moly
I want guacamole!

As we line up like cattle
To dance a little conga
Arriiiiiba chi chi chi chi chi!

Chicken Maan: Damn. Yours is so much better. But is conga mexican or some other spanish speaking country? I tried Salsa and came up only with Balsa and couldn't remember what that was.
" Arriiiiiba chi chi chi chi chi!" YES!!!
Cinco de mayo has begun.
yummy food today, i hope,as they celebrate this
holiest of days,
cinco de mayo..

my sister, the hippie social worker, turns 61 today!
she is 16 yrs older, and a sort of mother figure.
well sort of...
she is certainly getting buzzed i hope, probably on her
beloved beer, or maybe some good weed
grown by her hubby boy, bob.
he is ancient. he is, like, 74!
holy smoke, what

i like your song. i wish it could be made into some kinda
national anthem. i would by gosh get a passport
so i could visit such a nation.
rosh ha shana aint no fun? then why celebrate it?
I mean, hell Fernsy, This is an Awesome Song??
Ain't it.....
Mission: It's early. There is still time. Thanks and happy cinco de mayo to you.
I love and will sing forever your wonderful Cinco de Mayo song chorus.
Pea-Dubb
(If you build it, they will come....)
Poor Woman: It stemmed from existential hopelessness that I would not have any fun despite this festive day. Thanks Ms. Dubb.
Brassawe: Yay. A visitor from actual Mexico. The tune is too complex to explain. It's an awesome tune. Wish I could express it through words.
Not any pre-existing song. Happy Cinco Demayo, Brassawe.
Erica: Hmmm. I doubt I'll score a margarita today but if i do i'll think ofyou. holy moly i want gaucamole!
irish pub now. i am at other sister's house.
babysitting the magnificent georgie puppy.

sister is sophisticated. she is allied to a hippie master,
bob.
i have not a bit of wisdom to give the world today.
except, maybe...
to be prudent, emersonian like:
"Prudence
In skating over thin ice our safety is in our speed.
Trust men and they will be true to you; treat them greatly, and they will show themselves great.
Tomorrow will be like today. Life wastes itself whilst we are preparing to live.
Every violation of truth is not only a sort of suicide in the liar, but is a stab at the health of human society."
emerson, "prudence" yikes.
On Cinco de May-a.
It takes an ofay-o
To pronounce it may-o."
James: I'd bet even your cousins are interesting. Thanks for dignifying my silly song with emerson.
The songbird: Thanks for coming by. The song and the spirit of the Puebla was not present on OS, imho.
Cranky: Thanks. Points are nice.
LittleKate: Aussies would know how very awesome my song was. Cheers!
ConChapman: Wonderful verse. Thanks for playing.
and damn if I didn't miss that
Cinco de Mayo holiday!
Still got lots of vicarious pleasure
from reading this treasure ~
as every piece you post
is worthy of a major boast.
Inciteful, provocative or just in plain jest
your writing truly is some of the best!
Okay, okay, I suck at rhyme
that's evidently clear ~
but who gives a fuck
oops, I mean ~ oh, dear!
Truly, madly, deeply ~
~R~
PS: Yep, a copyright is definitely in order.
Eyespye: I thought your rhyming was excellent. You are excellent. Thank you my fine friend.
KarlHammershmit: WTF, I was about to delete this. Too tongue in cheek, I thought. I was sure it would be construed as some genuine ralllying cry for cinco de mayo when it was intended as a weary absurdity. And, there such a comment and some wonderful contructive criticism . You are so right on about the slowing down. And, so generous of you to offer me this . I must follow that soon. I supposedly speak way too quick too. Thank you a lot for that generous and kind comment!
Myfavoritefrancophile: I felt tyrannized all day and actually did go out to get mexican food. Suddenly, I'm ordering a burrito and tacos and I still don't know one detail about the battle of the Puebla.
'tis a bit late for the Coron-nah
gotta stay sober for the momma
but i'll pick up the phone- a
if not now, mabbe tomar-ra
to say "ferns, i love ya!"

one is a park avenue dr.

those guys, i gotta say, have been the bane of my existence.
especially when mom showed affection for em.
especially the dr.
emerson wasnt terribly dignified. he was one of us.
kinda..a person who enjoys his distance
from people, yknow?ha.
Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members. Society is a joint-stock company, in which the members agree, for the better securing of his bread to each shareholder, to surrender the liberty and culture of the eater. The virtue in most request is conformity. Self-reliance is its aversion. It loves not realities and creators, but names and customs.
rated with love
... loving it any day, really. Good to see you having fun too, fernsy.
Hope it's been a great day.
do it as venus does whatever.
