We're seeing very ugly campaigning in one of our local races, but that mud includes nearly everything except racism, since all the candidates are white. Doesn't made it any less muddy or vile.
I'll be very glad when the November election is over. Hopefully Obama will be back in the White House to continue what he started in 2008.

I am not sure I owe the Obama adminstration much of anything either. My wife lost her job at National Institute of Health this last May due to governmental cutbacks on cancer research. It is a fight. For all I know this might be some Klan outfit that whipped these up. For all I know some place like White Sheet, Alabama might actually have some of these on the street. But most of the products look fake to me, for the simple reason that anyone near any sizable number of black people would get some very physical negative reaction to these. I took all these images from the very website that was selling them that Yahoo and other news sources reported later on in the day that the site crashed.. NO wonder .. As much as I do not agree with the GOP and I do listen to their comments and try and think I do not think the GOP would wear them. They have far more brains than those that created them. Stumpys was not the only web site producing such racist fare and hopefully like the stills in the land these were shut down and no doubt we shall see them rise to the surface once again.

Is that all it takes to tag an entire political party as racists? Perhaps on this blog, frequented by the radical left, that’s all it takes. In the real world, there is ample evidence that Republicans and Independents are upset with the president not because of his skin color but because of his policies. I had the unfortunate company of some genuine Klan people, one of whom wore a T-shirt to his job clearly saying "The Ku Klux Klan is watching you!" Being around them was creepy, and they knew it and gloried in how they were perceived.
The racism of other groups like the GOP and many Teabaggers is very real, but they are not like the Klan. Their racism isn't their identity and central to their character. It's part of the reason why they hate Obama and anyone who likes Obama, but it's overridden by their perception that "government" is ruining their lives.
I fully expect some of these items will show up at the GOP National Convention. It's how they are received that will matter. Will the sergeant-at-arms order those people off the floor? Or will they say "they're just comedians" or "it's an honest opinion"? Let's see.
