I think "free speech" is overrated when I see that this is protected. The ruling sickens me.~r

What I think:
The Court got it right, as it did when it permitted the Am. Nazi Party to march in Skokie, Illinois in the late '70s even though that city had a high concentration of death camp survivors. I accept that many fellow Jews disagree w me.
We have, to be free, put up w the boorish and stupid and the mean-0spitited if what they are doing does not go beyond speech.

I heard this on radio and immediately had vision of counter-protesters
at Westboro holding up signs that say: "God Hates Fag Haters." :)

Hate breeds hate. When these children become adults it's probably too late to change their ways. What's sadder is that if they truly do believe in God, their Creator must also be a hater. I've never fully understood why a reasonable and rational person would pray to and obey an omnipotent entity and then contradict themselves and their God by overtly expressing their hatred in words and actions demonstrative that will ultimately ridicule Him.

A big part of the problem is media attention. If no one filmed them or gave them their 5 seconds of fame they would disappear in a heart beat.

I agree with Out on a Limb - if our stupid media didn't just love to give people like this attention - they'd fade away. I guess - sickening as it is to say - I suppose on the free speech issue - have to agree. It's not like any of us have that many rights left these days, and any little inch the court takes to lessen them, is another drip down the drain. R

The word 'fag' has many meanings in the UK but in your case I hope you quash the idiots who are looking for groups to hate which always happens when upon hard times,recession, war etc.

From what they say, I think they hate God as they do seem to like to accuse the allmighty of causing atrocities. Nonetheless, much much too much press for a few whack jobs Being a Canadian I am pleased Canada does not tolerate their nonsense and has barred some of them from the Country.
