Every once in a while an idea for a cartoon pops into my head fully formed. This happened last night while I was listening to an NPR report on Super Tuesday, which concluded that it’s now almost certain that Mitt Romney will win the Republican presidential nomination. He has more than a third of the delegates he needs, and either Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum will have to gain more than two-thirds of the remaining delegates to beat Romney. In other words, the game is basically over. Mitt simply has too much money and too large an organization to be beaten, despite inspiring virtually no passion among the GOP faithful, who keep searching in vain for a viable not-Mitt. The old adage that only death and taxes are inevitable just got updated with a third item, one that’s just about as popular as the first two.

Well, whatever. People just don't like him.
