Jerry and Ivan's Longest Day: Barbarossa

Rate: 0 Flag

The longest day just ended.

America's longest day was on June 6, 1944 on Normandy's beaches.

For Germany and Russia, for Jerry and Ivan, June 22, 1941 was the longest day, the day Operation Barbarossa opened as Germany and its allies invaded the Soviet Union.

At stake was who would rule the world potentially.

There will always be a literature with avid readers on that topic, as that Operation's ultimate failure more than any other event shaped the next seventy years.

It was a close run thing, a lot of what ifs for Jerry, especially if they hadn't gone so crazy killing civilians, if then that's who Jerry had become then too.
