Title
A Heartbeat that never comes to rest
Bio
This story begins last year, delves into the painful history starting 25 years ago and will end with the events that led to the devastating outcome in New Hampshire and the very unexpected results. The story is laced with the all too important life saver of humor, a certain amount of erotica, controversial experiences and painful decisions. Oh...and Music! My heart has gone into this as I have been a hermit for the past 14 months preparing and ultimately reliving the events that have put me here. And it is with you that I will find my way.

OPEN SALON! Stop the bleeding!!! We're dying here.

Rate: 23 Flag

It may be true, it may not.

But I have gone to Red Room (yes, it's free) and my work has gotten recognition by Reader's Digenst and Haggard Publishing.

I love it here, and I truly pray we can stay afloat.

Click on any sentence and you are there.

But Red Room is a classy site with no spam.  You have to apply and they let you know in 48 hours or less.

If you send them a private message, give them my name (or any other Red Room author) and you may be able to get in sooner.  The reason for the time delay...obviously..NO SPAM.

I love all of you.  I really don't think any of you have any idea.

But I do not want to see your work lost and I need you all in order to be who I am.  Sick...YES.  A fact YES.

OS going under, maybe just hype.

MY REDROOM PAGE

By the way IISTG means If It Seems Too Good to be True
Yes, this is absolutely positively true. If you lived this wouldn't you write about it? Some of the names of characters in this blog are fictitious. This is an account of actual events. Some of the events have been compiled together for the flow of the story. Even when I read my own work, I wonder how it could be so. But if you study your own life and compartmentalize it into less than 200 pages, you would be surprised how interesting it really is!

Excellent suggestion!
I just wrote Kerry Lauerman. I really feel strongly that if they just threw a dollar amount at us, we would be happy to help. I would. They have offices and employees. They deserve something. Myabe $10 or $15 a year. Hell, those of us that can afford to can sponsor people who can't. I would be willing to pay for myself and two other people. Even at $10 A MONTH, I could do it. We gotta do something.

I recommended Red Room, because it is a place to go while we wait. I love it because it has everything, it's classy and it has a visual graph of viewership, and like I said here, It has viewership from the magazines that have been around
You know what is sad? with all of this going on, the front page is innundated with spam.
Thank you.
You're right RR looks classy.
~R~
Red Room may be "classy." I have no idea. Did just click over there from your link and indeed, the page there appears "classy," but I've seen others like it, the one in England (can't recall the name) where a bunch of ex-pats were posting (now out of biz), and... simply put, they are no fun. Reason being, the comment sections are not fluid and "live" like they are here, and very few comments at that anyway. Sure, if worse comes to worse and OS croaks, we'll all be left with redroom or others... that suck.
And yeah, I'd be willing to pay.. here. When I first arrived there was NO SPAM. It could be that way again.
Thanks for the idea, Diane. Your blog over there looks great.
Tr ig...c'mon, be fair. I just said that I got published. Even if you don't stay, you at least have a chance of getting something out of it.

Lina Sceppasaina has a site on Zoomers that I love. Has a neighborhood feel.
Who the hell is "Lina Sceppasaina?"

And published you say? I've published here 500 times plus.
Did you get paid? Me neither.
I took a quick look at RR Diane and while I know that no two sites will be identical, it struck me right away that there doesn't seem to be favorite feed on anyone's blog, nor the current feed and 4 hour ratings, both of which add to the sense of community. It just looked a little sedate.
Sorry Tr ig, you know who I mean. Linda SeccaspinaI am just trying to help here. If you picked the link that would have cleared it up as well.

Why are you so volatile? I know this is your m.o. so I probably shouldn't encourage you as I have watched you on other posts take this stand and it is expected.

Yes I got paid $750 for my piece.
Instead of being so nasty, why don't you come up with some ideas?
Yes, RedRoom has it's issues, but as I said, they are a willing and cooperative site. If they were to see that this is what their bloggers want, they will do it. Unlike Salon that ignores our every need. We are a community because of our respect for each other and each other's work. That is the glue that has kept OS together.

It is now that trhey should swoop in and come to our aide.

How many out there have PMed Kerry Lauerman ?

or Joan Walsh? There I have given you the links.
Tr ig, do you have any idea what a time consuming thing it is to create links in these commentsA? I am doing it to be part of the solution.

BTW Zoomers (Linda's site)is a great site with a community feel!
But would they appreciate my type of blogging? I don't do serious research-y stuff or work really hard at fiction and poetry. This has been more like a playground/ school room/ diary for me.
as long as hyou are serious about your work, even the fun stuff. I am trying to backup all my stuff as salon is now closed to new registraurs. I am afraid I won't see any of you again.
Yeah I'm being a cock-waffle. Sorry. Glad you got paid too, seriously.
Couldn't help noticing the way you spelled her name though, in that link you spent so much time on. Is Zoomer's actually Linda's site, or does she just blog there? Serious question..

Like Phyllis says too... there is a playfulness at os, free reign to post silly things as well as great works. And (just had this conversation with my gf who blogs here too-) what makes os OS is the comment sections, the live feel, the all out parties sometimes (or at least there used to be).
Could it be done somewhere else? Why not? Hopefully someone, someplace will, and do it better. Still it'll never be the same, warts and all I love the place and I'll cry a little at her last breath.
Do appreciate your efforts though. THANK YOU (but might as well give up on Kerry. Is he still alive? ha)
No Tr ig, Linda just blogs there, but it is small, I think we could all have some great fun there though.

Thanks for the swell up, I knew you had a heart.

And yes, to tell you the truth, I am going to miss you.
Thank you, Dianne; I know the site and it is excellent. R
I am a believer in having my eggs in as many baskets as possible. A little rabbit I met once taught me this. You may have seen him before. He hangs out with a teddy bear and a hedgehog. They're always coming to me for wisdom, but I'm no smarter than they are.

Oh, and no-one notices the poor old donkey.
Looks beautiful! And Maya Angelou blogs there! Wow!

Hi Dianne: Thanks for the info on Red Room. I will check it out. I just came back from a long day at work and was pleased to see how many folks are working to come up with ways to keep our community of writers connected should OS disappear. I don't contribute as much as some people, but I do read as many posts as I can and have learned many things (mostly useful!) from my fellow writers. I appreciate your efforts and truly hope (to paraphrase Mark Twain) that the reports of OS's death are greatly exaggerated!
Beautiful site Dianne, I bookmarked your page so I can find you. Zoomers was nice, had a mellow feeling, a neighborhood feel as you said. I might go back over there again. Congratulations on the pieces you that were recognized and getting paid for them!

Thanks for presenting another option.
I've been wondering about Red Room for years. I'll check it out ...
I've bookmarked RR.

I've been blogging over at Zoomers. Not as many hits as I get here, but they have featured over half my posts.

Nice thing is they have a weekly challenge and they communicate.

Yeah, good luck with Kerry. IF he communicates back, tell him Tink says hello!! :D
oh i often think this place os is a microcosm of the world,
and the world itself, macrocosmically, is going
through one of its APOCALYPTIC end of times
phases that get tiresome
when the world doesnt end.

thank u, dear lady, for the suggestion.
but somehow i think this place will follow my mother's
infallible logic: if you worry and worry over something, and
prepare for the very worst, it just won't come true.
A weird way to look at the world,
and not recommended for raising children,
but..kinda true.
Oh dear god...what next.

Tink will come out of the closet and tell us he is really a little tiny dog.
I just wish they would do SOMETHING!!!!!!!!
Hi,Dianne,I don't know if I am in the RR,butI do have to contribute to a very important issue:Linda seccaspina and zoomers.
I can't believe that people would not know Linda, for one thing, and I want to let you know that I was a member at zoomers before coming to OS.Zoomers is Canadian, has been founded not long ago and has a solid base.
I don't care so much for FB .I get annoyed by their strange policy to poke their nose into everything.
I like OS and would like to stay because of the niveau, but I would miss a lot of OSers if they decide not to change.
Can anyone tell me how to back up my blog, comments and other OSers comments and blog posts?
OKDianne,I have taken a look,seems sophisticated.Is it mainly promotion.How do I get in?
Art James seems to have an issue with Kerry.Where is Art James in this discussion?
Is this what we are experiencing here comparable to a stock market crash?
Dianne, I have just made my sign uρ , let's hoρe that they will acceρt me. Your blog there is excellent, and I am glad that you are there. I want to be there, is a needed ρlace to me, other writers will make me write and I am in the need of having a safe way, to walk my way. This is a safe, excellent suggestion, Dianne, and a creative oρtion too. Rated.
this is not sick. some say it is, but do NOT listen to those..
"i need you all to be who i am"
.....the most obvious thing in the world, no matter what 'you all'
we choose. Community? ha, a lost concept..but..maybe not...

A retro-way of living! Nostalgic! To be part of something. Not a hint of shame in that, i daresay..
