Jon and Kate sic Media on "Little People, Big World" cast

Rate: 11 Flag

On Monday, Jon and Kate held a conference to report that their TLC reality show competitors, the Roloff family of "Little People, Big World," are a scandalous clan.

"Those children are crying for help...and comforters that match the window treatments!" said Kate.

"The mom on the show---" muttered Jon.

"I saw them use a sponge that was for tabletop use only NEAR THE FLOOR!" said Kate.

Jon:(mumble, mumble) "browbeaten."

Kate: "And the husband and wife clearly favor their little-person son over their other children!"

Jon: (mumble, mumble) "cat door.."

Reporter:  "If a camera crew followed anyone around, wouldn't they find something to cluck about?  Is it really fair that you claim to be concerned about the children while you're helping the media attack the family?"

 Jon and Kate: ...

Kate (finally):  "Just watch the clip."

Delia! Fun to see you back with a playful piece. We’re so ignorant about current television, we don’t even know who Jon and Kate are. But this is still funny without the cultural context, so good job.

Watch out for that sponge!

I feel really bad for Jon here, but I'm so out of the loop it's pitiful. I asked this same question on Ablonde's post yesterday: Who are Jon and Kate again? I gather that they have some children and the media think they're mean, but beyond that I'm at sea here. And there are little people? In light of that the reference to the cat door makes perfect sense to me:P
This is funny! I love the (mumble, mumble) cat door...
I wonder if it's too late to post my announcement. I started it yesterday and then all the hullabaloo got me distracted! It had something to do with Nadya Suleman and a communal living situation :->
Nan-- As I wrote in the tags, I haven't seen many shows. They came to town last year, and I heard women at work talk about them. That was the first I heard. I saw maybe 3 or 4 shows at that time. I get the feeling that, until the recent downturn, all shows are the same. I know there are more important things to talk about. I try to end on that note in the post above.
The couple had twins and wanted one more, but through fertility treatments, got 6 more. They tour churches and share their faith. TLC gives them trips to set up the show. Now they are on EVERY cover practically, every week.
And I thought I saw everything there was to see about craziness while working in the psych-hospital. I was deluded.
this is an open call? well, whatever it is, it's hilarious and reflects the media all too well. i've missed your posts, delia dee. so glad to see you back and in fine form. love love love and gratitude and sadly, i know who jon and kate are and the little people and waaay too much about tv.
I see the Jon and Kate everywhere though my mother watches the show. She adores the children.

I've never seen the show but people who have tell me Kate is, well, a "difficult" person.

If she is, then I do feel bad for the children.

I think I've seen the show withe the Little people and I must say I do like the wife and mother. She seems more down to earth and not so high strung.
