That's life~a post for our President

That's life, that's what all the people say.
You're riding high in April,
Shot down in May
But I know I'm gonna change that tune,
When I'm back on top, back on top in June.

I said that's life, and as funny as it may seem
Some people get their kicks,
Stompin' on a dream
But I don't let it, let it get me down,
'Cause this fine ol' world it keeps spinning around

 getimage

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing:
Each time I find myself, flat on my face,
I pick myself up and get back in the race.

That's life
I tell ya, I can't deny it,
I thought of quitting baby,
But my heart just ain't gonna buy it.
And if I didn't think it was worth one single try,
I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing:
Each time I find myself laying flat on my face,
I just pick myself up and get back in the race

That's life
That's life and I can't deny it
Many times I thought of cutting out
But my heart won't buy it
But if there's nothing shakin' come this here july
I'm gonna roll myself up in a big ball and die

My, My

This post is meant, with all due respect, for our new President. I heard this song today on the way to school and was struck by how meaningful the words might be for President Obama. I hope you won't take it in any other way but with courtesy. It is a difficult job and one that deserves the highest honor we can place upon it. That is my desire in doing this post and I hope you agree. If not, please, don't leave a rant or nasty note. Thank you! ~Debbs

First to say I do agree. I hope he is able to shake off the crap that's being said and stand up to the ones who want to stomp on other people's dreams!
Theo and MGinMN,
Congratulations! You both came in first place to comment on my post tonight! And, thanks for the encouragement, it goes along way.
Good night and sweet dreams.
Yes, that is true. I know I couldn't do his job, nor would I wish to have it. So, I guess it's a case of walking in his shoes for a day right? Loved it!

Thank you, Rhizza, and many happy dreams tonight. Now, go to bed!
This is great, Debbs4. And how true, especially about those who enjoy stomping on other people's dreams. And how things cycle high and then cycle low. You just have to keep going, even when you've got THE hardest job on Earth.

It's all for a reason, Shiral. The good times, the tough times. We gotta hang in there and be the best we can be, for ourselves, for each other.
G'nite!
Great song with a great message. I for one think Obama has the temperament to take the ups and downs of the job. Sinatra used to just punch a reporter in the mouth, lets hope the president doesn't go that far. (but I would love it, hah)
~Scanner,
It's true, ol' blue eyes could get pretty mad and did punch a reporter once, but I'm sure he needed to do it. That just would NOT go over for ol' brown eyes, would it? What would everyone say...
Sinatra is one of my favorites, as is that song. I understand how you meant it and I agree with you....well done.

Thank you, Torman, for understanding. You are kind and that means alot!
President Obama IS President of the United States of America, an honor and job few men can do. We all should hope and pray for him to do great things, I think he'll do just fine. He needs everyone's help and support, especially from people like you. Thank you for the post, well written and Frank what can you say, he was great too. Rated....Older/Exasperated
Couldn't have picked a better song.

O/E and John,
Guys, thanks for the support, our new Prez sure needs it!
Here's to a GREAT country!
Yeah, baby. I'm singing along!
Steve-baby, man, you and Frankie are soundin' cool tonite!
YES, YES -- AND BRAVO. I think of him everyday and his difficult job.
very apt song. Life has its ups and downs. I hope our Prez is strapped in because he's on a roller coaster -- a big one!
It's a nasty job being president and the way these people get treated, you wonder why anyone worthwhile would want to set themselves up for such abuse? I'm pulling for the President and our great First Lady too! Thanks, Debbs.
Thanks, MaryAnne, Gal80 and Silkstone. Your support for our President means alot. And, thanks for the support you show here on this blog, it is much appreciated!
"The good times, the tough times. We gotta hang in there and be the best we can be, for ourselves, for each other."
