Bio

I like to think of myself as a student of "Humanity." I joined a west coast carnival show at the age of 16 and traveled the circuit from 1978 till 1988. In 1990 I took a vacation to Kansas to see my family and decided to stay in Wichita KS, where I began doing construction, mainly roofing. In 1992 I partnered with a good friend and started,” Roof Rite Roofing”. In 1995 I invested in the revitalization of a promising remodeling company, “Catalina Siding and Remodeling”. My investment became solvent and once again the company was prospering and growing in Wichita KS and surrounding areas, otherwise known as “Tornado Alley”. At the age of 38, I had achieved prosperity, financial stability, and security. I thought that I had it all in the bag. The world was mine and the booming construction industry in Wichita KS was limitless. Then on Sept 8 of the year 2000, my life was to take on a whole new meaning, and a whole new understanding. A front eve gave way due to rotting and I slowly fell backwards to the 8ft drop and the awaiting rock boulders outlining the shrubberies. I shattered my t12 vertebrae and have had paralyses from my waist down since the fall, utilizing a wheelchair for mobility. I was given a whole new life to do all over again. I was given a second chance to go back and right some of those wrongs I had committed. I am able to look through enlightened eyes at a new world to be conquered, new hurdles to cross and a whole new set of emotions and feelings to explore and understand. This was my new journey. In 2002 I enrolled into Independence Community College and began my pursuit of understanding and enlightenment to the new choices of what life was to offer me. I relocated back to Yuma and enrolled into A.W.C. in 2009 and I am close to graduating with my A.A and B.A. in sociology/psychology, with intentions to continue towards obtaining my masters at N.A.U. In that pursuit of higher education, I have found that I have a new awakened compassion to inspire and to motivate people to stand up, take responsibility and to change that which has been so terribly overlooked. That is, each individual citizens rights, their privileges, and their responsibility to be an active and responsible participant in our government, our electoral process and our national Security. I really do believe that we as a society and an organized entity, could make small effective changes to our political system at a local, city, or state level. These topics I chose are some areas of change that can be effectively influenced from our local position as concerned and active members of our society. God Bless and Good Will, to all.
