Glass

Rate: 20 Flag

Ice Window. Photograph copyright (c) 2012 CoyoteOldStyle.

Through the window a

Spiral of parking lot players.

A glimpse, a swift impression.

Standing next to me: such presence,

Energy, fusing past memory and

Unknown supposition. A hot splash

Of light, star-shaped, radiates from

Deep inside, engulfing us both

In a narrative that will never occur,

A dream world can never be

More than a parchment reminiscence.

For some reason this conjures up a favorite song, "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard." Rated.
I love the juxtaposition of the words and the photo: each speaks to the magic of the cycles in one's life, and of the naturalness of love renewed.

Nice work, as always. :-D
I really like both the photo and the poem, both illustrating the beauty that can lurk in chance encounters.
Looks like Kent Pitman took the words out of my keyboard. I agree.

Erica, that's interesting how words and visuals can stimulate music too. Thanks!

Bill, you know that beauty is where you find it. I'm so glad you like this. Maybe we need another caption contest?

Sheila, thank you so much!

Kent, that means a lot coming from you. Indeed we never know what may happen on our trail through life.

Poetess, thank you for visiting and enjoying the post!

Art, I am googling your suggestions. Wonderful they are as are you. Staying away from gin today.

Always I'm reminded that beauty is everywhere. We just need to see it.
Maybe we need another caption contest?

Just let me know if you do one...
Bill, for you I will consider it. Really!
A hot splash of light -

Have experienced that.
Linnnn, thanks. Don't you love that flash of perfect knowing, experience and a lifetime in the blink of an eye? Glad to see you here.
I had to read three times for your words to soak in as deeply as I wanted them to...
I very much enjoyed this, Coyote.
Those dream worlds can be quite rich, those sudden splashes of light so bright, sometimes so hot... : )
Thinking, thanks for coming by. It's a rare occurrence when we have dreams while waking but sometimes they happen in the blink of an eye.
