Advent Calendar Door Number Twenty-Three

Rate: 5 Flag

Each day of Advent, beginning on December 1, is marked with a special calendar. Yesterday we opened door number twenty-two. Last night I had tickets to see the luminaria display at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. That event was cancelled by rain. That's right. Rain. I was not filled with holiday joy when I found out, but tomorrow is Christmas Eve! And today, another door is ready to open.

I can hear the drumroll starting to build for the upcoming finale... The petals of this blossom are themselves like a bunch of doors opening, one after another, in Nature's own variant of your ambitious project here.
Hi Kent, thanks! That's kind of the way I saw it too. The flower is a metaphor for the door which is a metaphor for the flower. It's kind of a cosmic convergence. Oh dear, I think my coffee level is way low. Thanks for coming by and taking part in this!
Gorgeous - just gorgeous ! I have one in my front yard (under two feet of snow right now. . . Thank you, Coyote! ~r
Fusun, this bloom in all its glorious ephemerality is long gone but the promise of it coming back is still here. Enjoy your snow!
Cindy I was indeed in the Phoenix area. We went to see the luminarias at the Desert Botanical Garden on Thursday night. Breathtakingly beautiful. It's one of my favorite destinations every time we go out there and yes, to visit family. Next time, we're getting together!
