- Hi, I reside in the forgotten borough, the isle of Staten Island. I enjoy writing (DUH!), reading, computers, being a card-carrying liberal, a quality which I passed onto my two grown children and being a professional ball-buster. I enjoy politics and have volunteered on a few political campaigns. I dig blogging and ruffling the feathers of the bureaucacy. I hope none of my posting offend fellow bloggers. After all, boys and girls...we're here to have fun as well as express our opinions.
I've been a New Yorker since 1987 but I'm a Midwestern girl at heart.

Free health care for all...even Rush and Sarah...
I thought I heard it all when Sarah Palin admitted that her and her family crossed the borders to Canada to receive medical care. Isn't this the Queen of Death Panels and the poster girl for the National Tea Party? She's a card-carrying neo-con and against the health care reform law. … Read full post »
Is the health care reform going to pass?
It's all I seem to be hearing in the news lately. Is this thing really going to pass after all? One thing that caught my ear, was New York state would get 12 million towards Medicaid if it does pass. It does sound encouraging, considering it's been a full-blown pissing contest… Read full post »
Life's guilty pleasures...
Beth, you inspired me to conjure up this one. Your recent blog entry got thinking of how everyone, including us girls need to have guilty pleasures. This is true when having a particularly stressful day or just a shitty one.
Beth, this is dedicated to you.

Sarah Palin for President in 2012? Yeah, right!!
No one in their right mind would vote for Sarah Palin if she ran for President in 2012. Stephen Colbert, American satirist and pundit referred to her as a f***ing idiot. This is a woman who ends words with the "y", as in changy thingy. Oh my god, how annoying and hoaky can… Read full post »
John Edwards got caught with his pants down...
John Edwards seems like your typical guy, I won't say man because he's not worthy to be addressed as such. He's guilty of thinking with the wrong head-and not the one on his shoulders. Not only does he get caught cheating on his wife but fathers a child with his former… Read full post »
Is the health care reform bill doomed...?
Is the health care reform bill doomed to die a slow, painful death now that Scott Brown was elected to fill the late liberal lion, Ted Kennedy's seat in senate? It seems that there is a need more than ever to come up with nationalized health care since there are millions… Read full post »
Palin in 2012?
Don't Panic...
For some reason the month of September has seemed to drag on, especially this year. I suffer from Anxiety-Panic attacks and have for most of my life. I wasn't officially diagnosed with them until I was thirty years old and going through a particularly stressful and traumatic divorce. I rea… Read full post »
America's Mayor, maybe Governor of New York
Rudy Giuliani, America's Mayor is considering running for Governor of New York in 2010. I think that after the debacle up in Albany this summer many voters are considering who they are voting out of office in the next election. Governor David Patterson is rapidly losing approval points. H… Read full post »
The Anniversary of 9-11
The 8th anniversary of 9-11 stirs up feelings of sadness, as well as memories of where we were that day. There were memorial services, bowing our heads in silence at the times when the planes hit the Twin Towers are examples of ways people chose to remember that fateful day. … Read full post »
The American Newspaper and the internet.
The American newspaper is going the way of the dodo bird. They are losing readership to the internet. A recent casualty is Rocky Mountain News and smaller newspapers are slowly going to the wayside and becoming extinct. The internet and cyberspace are both a blessing and a curse.&nbs… Read full post »
Healthcare Reform-don't rule out Obama yet!
The government should not abandon the health care reform just yet. Leave it to the Conservatives to keep shooting it down. This is all in hopes of letting it die out and hopefully the American people will forget about it. They seems to think that all Americans have the attention span… Read full post »
No more universal healthcare?
It seems that President Obama is scrapping his plans for universal healthcare. He buckled under the pressure of the conservatives and they are now looking into an alternative plan. The reason was too much competition amongst the insurance companies. It seems both political parties a… Read full post »
Eunice Kennedy Shriver and the Special Olympics
The Kennedys did some of the best philathrophical work ever. Much of the time they have been recognized far too much for the scandal and havoc they wreaked. She founded the Special Olympics in 1962. It started in her backyard as a summer day camp. Having a handicapped sister m… Read full post »
The 80's and John Hughes' movies...
For all of us who grew up in the 80's, John Hughes was the director/writer who had his pulse on the adolescents and young adults in America. We all somehow could find a character or two to relate to while growing up. The unrequited loves, crushes, heartbreak of not fitting in an… Read full post »
Shame on the senate nominating committee....
The men on the Senate Nominating Committee are a bunch of sexist and racist trolls, especially Orrin Hatch, who's a Republican from Utah. He claims that he cannot endorse the nomination of Sonia Sotomayer. They literally made her jump through proverbial hoops with all the questions they a… Read full post »
Health Care Reform...
Right before our lawmakers is the health care reform bill. I have always been a supporter of universal healthcare in this country. Why does it seem to work in countries like Canada and England then it takes me back to the movie, "Sicko" by Michael Moore.
I have a feeling… Read full post »
Ten years ago this week....
This week marks the 10th Anniversary of the passing of John F. Kennedy, Jr. We had our hopes and dreams of him going into political office. The last hope of a Kennedy being President, forever John-John to us. The Kennedys were the closest thing to royalty we could get, a dynasty… Read full post »
Got to love these Republican (Sex and otherwise) Scandals...
It's so intriguing, almost like rubbernecking to see a car accident on the highway or trainwreck. It's always fascinating to see the Republicans in a sex scandal or any kind of scandal for that fact. It's entertaining to see them try to talk their way out of it somehow. Recently, there… Read full post »
Don't cry for Sanford...
I dedicate the song, "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina" (from the musical, Evita) to Senator Sanford. He claims she's his soulmate-translation: she's fantastic in the sack. She's not the first gullible female to succumb to his political power and she won't be the last. In the immor… Read full post »
Let's hear it for Republican Family Values...
So much for Republican family values! This jerkoff, Sanford professed his love for his Argentine lover and calling her his soulmate. The lastest (and best of all), he wants to fall in love again with his wife. My opinion this guy is just a fickle asshole who doesn't seem to know… Read full post »
Have you ever....googled your name?
Have you ever googled your own name? I admit it, I have and it was fascinating to see how many times my name or parts of it have appeared. The latest update on Michael Jackson...

Saying good-bye to an era....
